Merry has come from the North Pole (via Hobby Lobby, shhhh, and MUCH cheaper than the book/elf sets) to stay an keep an eye on Kiddo, as her days of staying on Santa's 'Good List' were getting kinda slim. And yes, Merry is Southern- she has a hoop skirt! Yes, there is such a thing!
TOTALLY amazing what happens when Merry 'leaves' for the night, or during the day while Kiddo is in school, and returns with a note from Santa, or a small gift. You could have heard the squeal of delight in Boston, the first time she read Santa was keeping her on the 'Good List', courtesy of the first note Merry brought back from Santa!
Every morning and return from school is an immediate hunt to see what Merry is up to, and where she has been. Behavior has been 100% good and NO whining as well. YEAH (why did I NOT do this last year? DUMB, Merry will be staying around trust me!!!).
So far we've found her in Kiddo's stocking, on the tv, hanging out in the dollhouse, sitting on the chair and playing Papa's drums with the snowman's candy canes (bad elf, that's theft!). After she is found, she is returned to her place of honor on Kiddo's advent calendar box. Where presumably she keeps watch to make sure there are trinkets or candy left nightly for Kiddo! The Advent box ruled until Merry showed up!
It has been alot of fun and seeing the smile of wonder is worth every minute of thinking of new places to put her!
