As a Veggie Tales Ambassador, I love getting new releases ahead of time, and being able to share them not only with friends and family, but Kiddo's schoolmates AND our fellow townspeople!

We were sent The Little Drummer Boy for review and sharing, and had our first viewing at Kiddo's school, right before our county fair! We had a special showing for all the preschool kids!  The teachers put posters up in their classrooms for me, and we also had one at the entrance to the preschool, advertising the film showing!

I was able to give every child a Veggie Tales balloon to take home (thanks Veggie Tales for sending the extras!) and they were more excited with them than by the cut out/iced drum sugar and peanut butter cookies I made (which I went and forgot to take a pix of! SIGH). Every child also received a coupon page and coloring page to take home- as it is a Christian preschool, most parents will be buying the video for their kids (or Grandma and Grandpa will)! We also sent home a flyer with info on World Vision, so we could help spread the word about their excellent programs!

It was hilarious when the music started for the Veggie Tales theme- over 35 kids screaming/singing out the theme song in perfect harmony! The adults couldn't help but to laugh! Yes, these kids on Veggie Fanatics! Amazingly after all the excitement of the day (It was Western Wear day in honor of our county fair), they were glued to the TV.

Synopsis: Junior Asparagus stars as The Little Drummer Boy, a lonely child who finds the true meaning of Christmas when he stumbles upon the birth of the baby Jesus.  A story of generosity, hope, and love, this timeless tale will warm the hearts of children everywhere!Featuring the song "The Little Drummer Boy" with Dove and Grammy award winning artists BeBe and CeCe Winans! Also includes the new SIlly Song "The 8 Polish Foods of Christmas!"

The kids loved the Christmas songs and sang loudly. They weren't too sure about the Polish foods song however. I noticed the kids that go to alot of festivals seemed more open to it- maybe because they're tried more different foods? Don't know....After the movie the teacher led a discussion about the movie and it was amazing to hear 4 and 5 yr olds discussing the birth of Jesus in relation to the movie, and what it meant FOR them! I also found that it helped to induce a desire to give more, and make more gifts for Christmas, from Kiddo (truthfully, we're about crafted out!). This is the true benefit of Veggie Tales- giving young kids a way to access their bible lessons, in a way they comprehend, and allow them to make connections to their own lives! YEAH Veggie Tales! The bonus features are great-Kiddo really liked the video on how to make your own drum and the singalong songs! We highly recommend this video!
