Book Review and Giveaway: He Answered by L.V. Robinson

Synopsis: When the police arrive at her door and escort her out of her home, Robinson's protagonist can't decide if she should kill that man or kill the woman he was with. Or both. One of them had lied, she knew, but she could not yet tell which one.outside, even more pressing was her daughter downstairs who was lying in bed crying from the pain she hoped the next day's operation would help take away.

All her mother could do was promise her she'd be back in time to take her to the hospital for her surgery the next morning.

Meanwhile the distraught mother had to figure out if her man's ex, and he, were concocting this situation for their own personal gain, or if he was just as stunned by the police.


Review: This is a very quick read, as it is only a 62 page novella. I literally finished it while waiting for my XRay and Ortho appointments! It's not chick lit, not a mystery, but more of a memoir of sorts. It was an interesting story, but I couldn't help but to wish it had been fleshed out more into an actual fiction novel. A chapter would start great, and then suddenly it was over. I kept thinking I was missing some of the middle, and would flip back to make sure I hadn't missed anything. If the premiss of each chapter had been more thoroughly developed, it would have been a more tight Christian (The "HE" of the title, is God answering her prayers) family drama work of fiction, that would have been very satisfying. It felt more of a slightly fleshed out outline, from a lit class (thus the novella term), than a full novel. But is was an interesting quick read.
