Book Review and Giveaway: I Couldn't Love You More, by Jillian Medoff

I Couldn't Love You More cover

Synopsis: In I COULDNT LOVE YOU MORE, we meet Eliot Harmon, who, like so many working mothers, is trying to keep it together. On the outside, she has a perfectly fulfilling life in the suburbs with her partner Grant and their three daughters, two of whom are Grant’s children from a previous marriage. The rhythm of Eliot’s days include a demanding job, neurotic sisters, an idiosyncratic mother, Grant’s irresponsible ex-wife, carpool politics, teenage drama, sippy cups, and barely a second to breathe.
Then Finn Montgomery, Eliot’s first love, shows up in the most unlikely place, triggering a shocking chain of events that forces her to make a decision no parent should bear. In Jillian Medoff’s talented hands, Eliot’s fall from grace and hard-won redemption is a deeply moving story that explores, in a unique and unforgettable way, the choices that confront each of us every day.

About the AuthorJillian Medoff attended Barnard College and received an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU. A former fellow at the MacDowell Colony, Blue Mountain Center, VCCA and Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain, Jillian has taught at NYU and the University of Georgia.

Review:  I wish the book blog tour would have been closer to Mother's Day, as this would have been a good book to showcase around then! In many ways it is a brutally honest book, that asks some very emotional questions involving 'what if',  does biology make you a mom, can the bond between siblings survive their past, and can a relationship recover after a severe break? Pretty heavy stuff, but the author handles it with a delicate ease, giving you a story that will have you turning the pages and waiting to see what comes next. The author answers all the questions above and shows what preserverance and love can achieve. The ending will not be what you expect, but is very satisfying and will leave you talking to everybody about this book (and yes, I sense a Lifetime movie coming!)!
