I love being a Purex Insider, as we LOVE Purex- both for how well it works and how inexpensive it is. But the great thing is how Purex branches out and introduces us to other products!
We recently were sent a box of the newly improved Post Honey Bunches of Oats Honey Roasted Cereal! I had changed to eating more healthy cereals, and hadn't eaten it in quite awhile. It's a great combination of crispy flakes and crunchy granola bunches, with just a touch of honey. The cereal has four nutritious grains—rice, wheat, oats, and corn, and only 6 grams of sugar per serving. Plus 9 essential vitamins and minerals, makes it very diet and heart healthy (0g trans fat, 0g saturated fat, 0mg cholesterol per serving). In fact, you now get 10g of whole grain per serving- that's the same as other 'healthy' cereals!
I was really impressed with the improved taste, and increased amount of the 'bunches', aka the good stuff! I like my cereal dry (yeah I know, weird, but we didn't have lactose free milk when I was little, so I learned to eat it without milk), so having more 'bunches', makes it better! Even Kiddo said "YUM", when she tried it! We'll definitely be adding it back into our breakfast lineup choices!
Did you know there are now EIGHT different flavors of Honey Bunches of Oats? Besides the original, there is Vanilla Bunches, Strawberries, Raisin Medley, Almonds, Cinnamon Bunches, and Pecan Bunches.
The two brand new flavors are their fruit blends varieties: Banana Blueberry and Peach Raspberry! Banana flakes combine with blueberry bunches, and peach flakes combine with raspberry bunches. You get the same great healthy cereal, just with new flavors! I can't wait to try them! I'm thinking these two will be really good in winter, in a hot mix of the cereal!
Did you know you can make some great cookies and snack bars with this cereal too?
Here's a great (and easy) snack bar, that's perfect for the kids during Summer vacation!
1 1/2 cups smooth peanut butter
2/3 cup honey
2/3 cup sugar
3 cups Honey Bunches of Oats cereal
1 cup peanuts (optional)
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted

No-Bake Peanut Butter Bars
Ingredients:
1. Combine peanut butter, honey, and sugar in a microwaveable bowl.
2 Zap for 2-3 minutes (stirring every minute) or until sugar is melted and mixture is smooth.
3. Pour melted mixture over cereal and peanuts in a large bowl and stir to combine.
4. Spread into a greased, foil-lined 13x9" pan.
5. Pour melted chocolate over cereal mix and spread out with a spatula.

Can they get any easier? Nope!
