My dad has a hearing loss pretty much all my life, from excessive noise while on planes in Vietnam, and later working on them. Before the days of ear protection, and awareness, excessive noises caused a lot of hearing loss. As this is an ongoing issue for him, we we quite interested in reviewing this new book!

Review: This is a super quick read. Did you know that less than 25% of the people who can be helped by hearing aids, ever get help? Think about how many people YOU know who could use a hearing aid and refuse to get one! The stories are touching and help to truly illustrate how hearing loss affects a wide range of people, which may include the person reading the book! But the heart of the book is really the Resource Guide.

About the Author: Melissa K. Rodriguez grew up around the hearing aid business. Shortly after high school she obtained her license to fit hearing aids and received her National Board Certification in 1995. She is currently the owner of Hear On Earth Hearing Care Center in El Paso, Texas, and an active volunteer with the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Rodriguez sat on the board of the Texas Hearing Aid Association and served a six-year term on the Texas Governing Board, regulating the fitting and dispensing of hearing aids. She has made multiple humanitarian trips to fit hearing aids in Juarez and Mexico City, Mexico, Peru, and many other locations. She is currently a member of the International Hearing Society, the Texas Hearing Aid Association, and eWomenNetwork.
