Why?
Because I've got some great kids books to share with you! And being Summer, it's Summer 'brain drain' time, and these books are sure to get your kids interested in reading again!

Synopsis: Welcome to Frog and his world. He enjoys nothing better than spending time floating in his pond or visiting with his friends. He appreciates the simpler things in life and would prefer that things stay just the way they are---nice and peaceful.
In Best Summer Ever Frog compares himself to a bat, takes a much needed vacation, and meets a Starman who helps him see the night sky in a new way.
Review: Part of the "I am a Reader" Book Series, there are 4 books about Frog, and 4 about Tugg and Teeny. In the Frog series, Frog and his friends Rabbit, Possum, Raccoon and Squirrel explore the world, solve problems and support each other in each set of stories. The reading is aimed at kids aged Kindergarten and Up.
Kiddo really enjoyed the book, and is eager to get the rest of the series. I was really amazed at how well she grasped the meanings behind each story and told them to me, before I could ask her at the end of each story! Her favorite tale was "Starman" and loved that stars could be 'given', yet remain in place, to shine upon us all. She also thought Frog was very patient, when everyone decided to go on his 'time alone' vacation with him!
Kiddo loved the illustrations and as you can see they are very sweet.

About the Author: Born in Ireland, In 1958, Bunting moved to the United States with her husband and three children. A few years later, Bunting enrolled in a community college writing course, and she never looked back! She has written more than 200 books for children, many of which can be found in libraries around the world. Her books are diverse in age groups, from picture books to chapter books, and topic, ranging from Thanksgiving to riots in Los Angeles. Eve Bunting has won several awards for her works. She lives in Pasadena, California.
About the Illustrator: As far as she can remember, Josée has always spent her free time drawing. After studying graphic arts in Montreal, she was a graphic designer for 3 years, before starting a career in illustration. She'd rather illustrate books for children than design images for magazines and advertising. Josée now lives near Montreal. Josee Masse has illustrated all the Frog and Friends books. This is a great early reader series, and i will be getting kiddo the rest of the books, as they are great at teaching early reading AND manners! A 2 for 1 bonus! Check them out and you will agree!
