I don't know about your Dad, but mine enjoys computer games,
and always has, as a relaxation hobby!
Now they have their own website and you can play online, or download games to play when YOU want to play them, on your computer, smart phone or tablet! They have definitely adapted to the times and new technology!
They literally have thousands of games fit for both children and adults, including puzzles, brain teasers, educational, and family games. And they have them in over 10 languages! That's pretty amazing to me1 They even have their own Game Club, where you can sign up for extra discounts, early reviews of upcoming games, $2.99 daily deals on games and a punch card, to earn FREE games! in fact, right now they are offering a special promotion for a game for only $2.99, for all NEW customers! All you have to do is use coupon code NEW299 !
Something that is also new, is that you can download and play a game for an HOUR, for FREE, as part of their try before you buy program! How many companies let you do that? RIGHT, none that i can think of- they may give you 10 minutes, but an hour? Nope! hats off to Big Fish for knowing what their consumers want!
I have always LOVED their Puzzle, Mahjong and Word Games! I guess because we played a WHOLE lot of them growing up (great teaching games, thanks Mom and Dad!). So when Big Fish Games asked if I would like to review one of their new Word Games, I was VERY happy to say YES!
I had not played Word Whomp before, but Kiddo was helping me select a game, and she was enchanted with the gophers on Word Whomp Underground, and i thought it might be a game were she could work on starting to spell words, so we decided to give it a try!
Basically you get a set of letters and you may 3-6 letter words from it, in a timed section. if you get enough points, the gopher gets the carrot on the bottom of the screen (Kiddo loved this part, with screams of "Go Momma, make another word so get can get the carrot" punctuating our first go around with the game!").
She also thought it was cute that if you take too long to make a word, the gophers on top of the letters start to fall asleep! the game looks easy, but the time factor really works against you! You can change the order of the letters around, and that helps a WHOLE lot sometimes, wen you can't seem to find anymore words! in fact, out of 2 times playing, there were only 5 times that I found ALL the available words!! Some rounds are easier than others, so it keeps your interest going.
I really found that the game made me THINK and stretched my brain. It's sorta like exercise for your brain. Which I like, as studies have shown working your brain is beneficial the older you get! Big Fish games has a LOT of word games that will give your brain a workout- check them out, you'll be happy you did!
I am super thrilled that Big Fish Games is offering not one, but TWO BTHM readers a FREE game! Ready to enter?
