After some soul searching and debating, I've decided to change the commenting on this blog from ANYONE, aka Anonymous comments allowed, to the use of Registered Users, via the OpenID system.
Why you ask?
Because this past week alone, we've had some pretty nasty comments posted (now gone, thank you for a delete button!). granted they weren't on the most current posts, but the fact that they landed on the posts even with spam blockers, was enough to make me rethink anonymous posting.
The good news is that most of you probably already HAVE an OpenID password:
Google, Gmail, Yahoo, Wordpress, Blogger, Flickr, LiveJournal, Hyves, Mixi, Myspace, Otange and even AOL.
As we use Rafflecopter for giveaway entries, I don't think this will be too much of a hassle for those who want to comment. And it will be a better way to keep the spam and haters off the blog!

I see what you mean with the stupid comment above mine! I get these, too, but I just use the delete button on the few that I get. Do what you think is the best for your blog.
