Book Review: Into the Pumpkin by Linda Franklin

BTHM WTFY 2012 button

Synopsis: The fun of Halloween comes alive in this beautifully illustrated children's book. The drawings, done each year by the author on the eve of Halloween, follow various Halloween characters as they prepare to celebrate this mystical holiday -- pumpkins, witches, bats, ravens, black cats, scarecrows, spiders, ghosts, and more. Should they have their party in the graveyard or the pumpkin patch? Should they dress up or simply go as themselves? Take a ride on the witch's broom and enter the pumpkin for a magical trip both you and your kids will not soon forget.

Review: We reviewed this as an ebook, and we will definitely be heading off to buy the physical hardback book! The pictures are gorgeous (Kiddo was only a little scared of a couple-she enjoyed most of them) and the poem/story is enchanting- Kiddo loves a good Halloween party! I can see where this could become an annual event for a family reading session, much like 'The Night Before Christmas", as the book is suitable for Pre-K through 6th grade kids. In fact, I am thinking about buying 2 books, so I can frame some of the prints!
