If you're like us, you don't always carve all your pumpkins, you write on/paint them/wrap them, anything to keep from having to carve more than one, right?
So I was thrilled when Smiley360 sent us a full set of the new Bic Mark-It Permanent Markers, along with some really cool craft items, to jump start our creativity.
Now as we live in Louisiana, you show Kiddo a blank mask, she thinks of ONLY
one thing: Mardi Gras! So we decided to make a mask for her to keep until then,
and maybe we'd get some ideas for decorating her 3 pumpkins along the way!
The Bic Mark-It Permanent Markers come in different size packs- we were sent the 36 pack, which contains bold, pastel, and basic colors, in fine bin points. The markers offer long-lasting color and durable nibs (trust me-if they can put up with a 5 year old artiste, they can handle just about anything) that are great for marking on surfaces such as plastic, metal, glass, cardboard, wood, photos, oily and damp surfaces. They contain acid-free ink , no added acid; no measurable pH, making them safe for scrapbooking!
Two of the things that I immediately noticed were: how BRIGHT they are and how quick-drying they are- when you have a kid that wants to add color on top of color, those are some pretty important things! The other thing that both Kiddo and I LOVE is how the back unfolds, then folds back up, easily secures, and has a handle for carrying! because it is compact (see top photo), it makes it easy to store on a shelf or in a drawer- always a plus if you have a lot of crafting supplies!
Can you see HOW vivid the colors are? That is NO added flash- that is exactly
how Kiddo finished the coloring phase. I drew the outlines and she colored it in. Even the white on the upper left brow is there! Yup- you can tell white on white!
How many markers that you have, that can do that?
The kit we were sent alos included glitter glue pens in 6 colors (a long- time fav of Kiddo, as you can see above), crystals (which unfortunately were hard for her to put in place, so we added some of our own glitter), a pack of ribbon, and some feathers. The only bad thing about the glitter glue, is that is does take 24 hours to fully set, if you make it into thick lines like she did above.
We didn't have any center jewels big enough,
so we used the glitter glue to make our own!
You can see how VIVID the colors are even through the glitter!
We'll be adding ribbon streamers to the sides after another 24 hours,
as I wanted to make sure the glitter was thoroughly set on the sides,
where Kiddo put some on top of each other.
Kiddo loves her mask and can't wait to wear it to a parade with one of her fancy tutus
(being NOLA, she'll blend in, don't worry!)!
We have tried other art makers, and both of us agree, this set is hands down our favorite!
