We have been a firm supporter of World Vision for years, and we were thrilled when VeggieTales got on board with them as well, and I am VERY thrilled to be able to offer my BTHM readers a wonderful giveaway from World Vision!
Whether it’s for the tax deduction or the warm fuzzy feeling giving to others generates, most Americans plan to make a charitable donation over the holiday season. In fact, nearly 60 percent of Americans say they’ll donate between Thanksgiving and Christmas, according to a survey reported in the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
With so many worthy causes, it is difficult to know where the gift can best be used. Gifts to the World Vision Gift Catalog Maximum Impact Fund are used where resources are most desperately needed, to help children and families in struggling communities around the world, INCLUDING here in the US. With a financial contribution, the gift giver can select one of 36 Maximum Impact items (a few are listed below) that can be given to a loved one and at the same time help a person in need. Check out this wonderful video about the program:
The catalog has wonderfully unique items, that will satisfy the post picky of gift recipients! And if you include info about the program, then your recipient, will know just how special their gift truly is! And generally these gifts have a domino effect- you give one, share the program with the recipient, and then they share the love and buy something from the catalog for someone else, and the cycle repeats! that's one domino effect that does good for everyone involved!
They have gift for kids, like VeggieTale items and stuffed toys, wonderful jewelry and you can even give a donation with no product in return, for a truly supportive gift!
World Visions USA has done a huge effort to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy, and I'll be sharing more about that with you on Monday!
Last year World Vision sent me one of their Artisan Beaded Necklaces to review. It is a beautiful semi-precious stone and glass bead necklace, that can be worn long or short, as a bracelet or even a belt (for you skinny people, LOL). The quality is excellent, and it has leasted better than any other beaded jewelry piece I have. I always get compliments and questions about it, when I wear it!
So I was thrilled when World Vision offered me a similar beaded necklace to give to one lucky BTHM reader!
This Artisan Beaded Necklace: has glass beads and is handmade in Thailand. It can be worn several different ways — even as a multi-strand bracelet, just like the one I have! Your friends will be jealous of this one!.
