Review: I think this is one of those romance books where you either really really really really like it, or it's okay. There is no middle ground. For me it was okay, as I like Colleen Coble, so the first chapter I really liked, and the last section by Denise Hunter, was more to my liking. However the middle 2 chapters were just okay to me, so I felt like I was not as involved in the story for those 2 chapters, though they were well written. There were Christian overtones to the story, but they were well placed, and everything had a nice happy ending, in true romance book fashion. The characters were very well thought out and each author took what was given to them from the previous author's chapters, with the characters, and expanded on them, so that you really felt like you knew the characters all the way around.
This is the second in the Smitten series, and from they way things were in the book, I'm sure there is a third book in the making! You don't need to have read series one, but I'm sure it would round the background characters out more for the reader. It's a wonderful little romance book it just wasn't exactly what I was expecting from having read 2 of the authors' other books. Each author has their unique voice, but they do work well together. Again, not a bad book, just not I guess what I had really expected. I will give it more like a 4 out of 5 just because I lost interest in the middle, but other readers may go to 5 out of 5!
