As it's National Milk Day I wanted to share these fun facts about milk,
that you may not have known!
- Milk is an excellent post-workout beverage- the calcium and nutrients replace what your body has lost!
- the teen years are when bone growth is at it's PEAK, and when kids need the most calcium! And only 30% of boys and 12% of girls get their daily recommended dairy requirementswomen who eat at least 3 servings of dairy foods a day are 80% less likely to be obese, than those that don't
- in fact our bones continue to GROW until our 30s!
- just one 8oz milk box has nearly 44% of an adult's recommended daily vitamin intake!
- the average American consumes almost 25 gallons of milk a year- that's 400 glasses!
- low intake of calcium during childhood is associated with osteoprosis later in life
- kids double in weight and height form age 2 to 12!
- the average cow produces 90 glasses of milk each day! Or about 200,000 glasses during its lifetime!
