Synopsis: Fear, Faith, and a Fistful of Chocolates is tailored to your everyday fears--financial, health, relationships, loss, pain, the unknown, the what-ifs-both real and imagined.
In an age of uncertainty, inspirational humorist Deb Coty promises peace and hope for a better future. You'll come away refreshed, renewed, and ready to conquer your worries!
As much as we would hate to admit it, most of us struggle with some kind offear, worry or anxiety on a regular basis. Whether the fear is something that seems insignificant to some (like spiders) or is more common to mankind (like the loss of a loved one), we need to find the faith to hand our worries over to God to handle. InFear, Faith, and a Fistful of Chocolate: Wit and Wisdom for Sidestepping Life's Worries, Debora M. Coty uses her trademark humor to draw readers out of a lifestyle of worry and anxiety and into living life with the security of knowing that God has everything under His control.
Review:
I don't think I'll get the term 'People Hangover' out of my head for awhile- but she is right forgiveness does more for the person doing the forgiving than the one who is being forgiven! Worry, guilt, stress, all come from misdirected fear. Her acronym BARF (Back Off, Admit, Redirect and Forgive), from More Beauty, Less Beast comes back into play in this book as well.
As always, Debora's books make excellent women's bible study group guides for discussion, and I think this one would also be excellent for teens, for them to learn to how to deal with fears before they happen, and the ones they are already dealing with.
About the Author: Coty is the author of ten books, including Fear, Faithand a Fistful of Chocolate, More Beauty, Less Beast,Too Blessed to be Stressed, and Mom Needs Chocolate, and a contributor to numerous devotionals for women. She also writes monthly newspaper column titled "Grace Notes: God's Grace for Everyday Living." In addition to being a published author and popular speaker, Coty is an orthopedic occupational therapist and a tennis addict. Learn more about Deborah at www.deboracoty.com
