Review: This series is aimed at kids aged 10 and older, primarily more toward boys, and at over 500 pages, it really IS meant for an older reader. I had not read books 1-3, but was able to graps most of the plot without any problem. The story changes with each chapter, as it jumps to different characters, personally I'm ok with that, but to kids that can sometimes be aggravating, as the author sometimes leaves you in the middle of a scene and puts you into one that is different, so the young reader may not have the patience to wait, and want to race ahead to see what happened in that scene. It is a fast past book with lots of plot twists, and the proverbial cliff hanger at the end, to lead you onto the 5th book, yet to come!

If your kids enjoyed Harry Potter, or the Lord of the Rings triology, they will enjoy this series as well!
