Eshakti Has you Covered for Spring!

It has been a long while since I reviewed a dress from eShakti!  So I was quite happy when they asked me to check out their new Spring line and review an item.

If you are new to finding out about eShakti, or haven't visited them in awhile, let me update you!

eshakti dress changes

Eshakti offers custom made dresses, plus ready made dresses (now in sizes 0-36W). They also provide options to remove/include embroidery, pockets or other embellishments, as well as custom hem length. Just look at the differences in the SAME dress in the illustration above! What that means is you can get a dress to fit YOUR proportions, not some store mannequin's! They have dresses, blouses, jackets and skirts. I love their new customer gallery , which shows REAL people (versus models) wearing their eShakti items. It really helps when you're not sure on how a dress really looks on a body with curves or a large bust, for example!

Something new this year is their exclusive Bridesmaids line- some of the dresses would even be perfect for Spring and Summer parties, just with shorter hems!. For instance, I love these two:

And most of the dresses are available in at least 4 colors. Just think about having a bridesmaid dresses that attendants can get CUSTOM made for THEM, for under $100! Seriously- how much would they LOVE you for that? Plus with the matching colors, you can pick different styles for each woman! Easy peasy, less stress for the bride!

Unfortunately the new Spring line is SO popular that my first 3 choices:

were no longer available! BUMMER!

So I went back and looked for something that would work for Easter and found a great little print Feather dress:

Having my mother help me, we carefully took all my measurements, so I could get a custom made dress, to my proportions. If you are curvy you know exactly what a blessing this can be! Word of caution here: where whatever BRA, and/or slip, you will were with the dress and outfit when you get measured. Because of cup widths, etc, it CAN made a difference!

I then went to the order page and filled in all my measurements, keeping the original hem length and changing the sleeves to cap ones. I completed the mailing info and sent off the order. Within 10 days I had the dress back. Pretty impressive!

Things I love about the dress:
  • the shawl collar hits me where it should.
  • the ruched pleated skirt that has a great flare.
  • it slips on over head, but has a partial side zip closure.
  • above knee length hits me perfectly.
  • the dress is lined in polysatin
  • the light weight Polyester, woven crepe georgette, which is a mid-weight.fabric, so it hangs well
  • the dress is machine wash- no worrries about having to dry clean it.
  • the fabric pattern is actually very nice and looks like a paisley:

Things that I don't like about the dress:
  • once again, even with proper measurements, the dress is a bit short-waisted and pulls up, a LOT
  • even wearing the same bra, it is snug. I had forgotten that I needed to add an inch, to inch and a half, on the chest measurement, to get ease that I am used to having in my dresses.
  • I probably will wear a light sweater and a wide belt, over the dress and feel more comfortable with it
All in all, it's a well made dress, that pretty much fits correctly, just doesn't have the added ease to make it a more comfortable dress. I probably will wear it for Easter services.

But knowing the issue still with measurements, I just need to remember to add to the measurements we get, for my next order. Which will probably be a skirt, as I never have a problem with the bottom of the dresses- they fit correctly! I like these two, as they would be lovely for Summer:
