It's almost Summer  (hey we're having 00 degree days with 70% humidity and an afternoon rain shower, to us it already IS Summer, but I know you Northerners are still getting SNOW, so I'll say almost...LOL) and you know it's about time for the eternal "I'M BORED"s to start coming out of the mouths of your darling little angels.....

.......

Ok, I gave you a minute to get past the 'darling' part, as I know you snow/house bound folks are screaming "no they're not!". Now how about looking at something that is just darling for words?
OG off the beaten path bundle

Cute isn't it?

We love the Our Generation doll collection, that is available at your local target store! Not only do they have some super duper, practical, accessories, the dolls and their accessories are much more reasonable that their expensive counterparts (you know the ones I mean, the ones from NYC, that cost OVER $100, and that you cringe when your little darling whacks them on the ground). Miss Grace has been bugging us for one of the Our Generation dolls for the past couple of weeks. We were planning on getting her one with accessories for her Kindergarten graduation, and then we were asked if we wanted to review one of the play sets. Wow, talk about timing!

We were sent the “Off the Beaten Path” Bundle - Your doll can ride in style with Our Generation's with this bundle, which includes an 18" doll, jeep, tent, and all the necessary camping accessories to cozy up next to a campfire. As you can see Miss Grace could NOT wait to open the box as soon as she arrived home!

The jeep is probably the coolest thing from the set (well, besides the doll, who has been names Rose aka Rose Petal (don't ask, she always has come up with weird names for her dolls)). Not only do the doors open, for easy access for the dolls, the side mirrors fold in- for pretend parking in tight places like a certain SUV commercial that Miss Grace thinks is a riot! It is large enough to fir not one, but TWO dolls! Woo Hoo! Which is a really good thing, as Miss Grace also received a belated birthday present the same day in the mail, of another 18" inch doll (who promptly got named Hermione, after Harry Potter, as she was dressed in what Miss Grace deemed a school outfit...). So the 'girls' got to take a ride in the jeep together to 'test drive' it. After the parking episode, it was deemed a 'thumbs up' and the 'girls' are still arguing over what to name it. Ah the imagination of a 6 year old!

The 'girls' are also taking daily camping trips while Miss Grace is at school, and then at night they tell her all that they saw during the day (thanks to Mom and Meme, who leave out magazines and cutouts of animals and places by them). As you can see the bundle comes with a tent and sleeping bag for the doll. Miss Grace has decided that Rose, being older (ie she came out of a box first), gets to sleep outside and look at the stars and check for the Northern Lights, while Hermione gets to sleep inside the tent, with a small doll blanket and pillow. Now a quick word about the tent- ARGH. Like any other put together child's tent, it means plastic poles that go into connectors that don't always stay connected (hence why one of our poles is slightly bent). My sincere recommendation is once it is built, leave it built! You do not want to have to put it together again, although the instructions were great and it only took about 10 minutes, as I had interruptions!

The included camp kit is adorable: cooking pot, water bottle, spatula, frying pan, ladle, harmonica and camping guide book! Miss Grace is quite happy to provide dishes from her doll house set, so the girls aren't quite roughing it! She has already decided that they may need an attached horse trailer as well, to stow 'stuff' and a horse or two.....yeah, she's country!

As we have had a lot of rain since we got the bundle, she hasn't had a chance to set the girls up outside yet, but she is all set to have some fun with them outside during the Summer, and has already informed me that 'the girls' will be traveling on vacation with us, and driving their keep down to the beach. Ok dokey then, I guess that means we're going to the beach for vacation? LOL

The bundle items can be bought separately, but you really save ALOT when you buy the bundles, and it's a great gift idea, as they include a doll! We really love the pieces in the collection- practical, sturdy and inexpensive! We've already gone back and gotten 'the girls' their own Sitting Pretty Salon Chair, because even when you're camping, 'your hair should be pretty'. Sigh. Yup, she's the definition of a 'tom-girl'....or Southern...

Thanks Our Generation for making my daughter's Summer
a whole lot more fun and imagination filled!
