Mom grabbed this one when it came in, as she loved The Last Lecture. so this is her review!
And I think the book is wonderful for a Mother's Day giveaway,
which we are having some of this week!

Synopsis: As inspiring as The Last Lecture, an unforgettable memoir that reminds us all to live each day with adventure and joy
moms list cover
For Kate Greene, nothing was as important as her two little boys, Reef and Finn, and her loving husband, St. John, known as “Singe.” Together, they shared a wonderfully happy family life—until Kate was diagnosed with incurable breast cancer. During her final days, Kate created what she called Mum’s List. She included simple things like “look for four-leaf clovers” and “take them for walks along mummy’s favorite beach.” The list became Singe’s rock.

Mom’s List
is the book that Singe never wanted to write, but—in sharing the wisdom and inspiration that buoyed him during his darkest hours—he pays tribute to his beloved wife and the life she dreamed of for their sons after she was gone.

FootnoteThe Greens were married for 23 years, and traveled the world together, prior to having their 2 boys. Kate's cancer was not their only cross to bear, for before her diagnosis Reef was diagnosed at 18 months old, with a rare usually fatal, soft tissue cancer. And then his brother, Finn, was born not long after his diagnosis, seven weeks premature. It was after their survival that Kate's diagnosis hit them.

Review: Just like the book says "if you liked The Last Lecture, you will like this book"! Mr Green has done a fine job of completing 'the list' for his departed wife. The book reminds me of a Nicholas Sparks love story, but with a much sadder ending. As with The Last Letter, which was truly wonderful, he still wrote as if he was lecturing his class, where this is a lighter, funny at times, but most of all, more discerning story. You are truly rooting for his wife, but you already know the ending. My heart goes out to the children of anyone who dies young. For the children will never have had  enough time to get to bond with that parent. The good, the bad, the funny, the sad. All of it and their silly quirks and rituals. The book says it all for the children of Kate, from her heart, to them/ The list goes on....

About the Author:  St. John Greene is now focused on carrying on Kate’s legacy, teaching his sons and other adventurers to sail, dive, and swim. He, Reef, and Finn live in Bristol, England.
