Synopsis: Who is Lucie Walker?
Even Lucie herself can't answer that question after she comes to, confused and up to her knees in the chilly San Francisco Bay. Back home in Seattle, she adjusts to life with amnesia, growing unsettled by the clues she finds to the selfish, carefully guarded person she used to be. Will she ever fall in love with her handsome, kindhearted fiancé, Grady? Can he devote himself to the vulnerable, easygoing Lucie 2.0, who is so unlike her controlling former self?
When Lucie learns that Grady has been hiding some very painful secrets that could change the course of their relationship, she musters the courage to search for the shocking, long-repressed childhood memoriesthat will finally set her free.
Review: This is one of those books that keeps drawing you in, piece by piece, just as Lucie is unraveling what happened to her in her past. You will find yourself holding your breath and not hoping for the worse, yet knowing it is coming like a speeding locomotive down the tracks at you. Then you will hope that the new 'better' Lucie can take all the love that is surrounding her like enveloping water, and be able to move on and make a new life for herself! This is a book that will tug at your heart and make you want to pass around to all your friends. Definitely put it on your must read list for Summer!
About the Author: I was born in North Dakota but moved to Maryland at age two, then on to Colorado at age ten, where I remained until 2002. My husband Matt and I moved first to Portland, OR for three years, then made the trek north to Seattle. We live on the steep side of a hill covered with trees, right in the city, and I watch float planes buzz by my home-office window and hear boat horns honking to encourage the Fremont Bridge to raise and let them pass.
People think I've had some rather odd jobs in my life, but I figure, hey, if you've lived this long, usually some interesting stuff has happened to you. I was a working musician for a very long time, from my teens into my thirties. I was an apprentice plumber when I was young, and a secretary. I've cooked off and on in little cafes and I don't rule it out in the future. I was a corporate marketing type person for way too long. And now through the grace of all good things in the universe, I get to write. Thank you, dear readers, for your support, faith, and trust. I couldn't do it without you!
