I love the previous book in this series, The Lost Ones, so I was quite happy to read this book,
the next installment!
Synopsis: A year after becoming sheriff, Quinn Colson is faced with the release of an infamous murderer from prison. Jamey Dixon comes back to Jericho preaching redemption, and some believe him; but for the victim’s family, the only thought is revenge.
Another group who doesn’t believe him—the men in prison from Dixon’s last job, an armored car robbery. They’re sure he’s gone back to grab the hidden money, so they do the only thing they can: break out and head straight to Jericho themselves.
Colson and his deputy, Lillie, know they’ve got their work cut out for them. But they don’t count on one more unwelcome visitor: a tornado that causes havoc just as events come to a head. Communications are down, the roads are impassable—and the rule of law is just about to snap.
Review: LOVE LOVE LOVE the Quinn Colson books! They are such a great blend of modern soldier/lawman that you can't help reading them in one sitting, as you just can't put them down once you start the roller coaster of the story. Being set in Mississippi helps, as the areas are familiar to me, as are ye old Southern politics! You know that Quinn and Lillie will walk the line between what is legal and what needs to be done, and that adds an extra punch to the story! They are a great team, and you will want to go have dinner at Quinn's mother Jean's house, and have a serious talk with his sister Caddy. And you won't be able to wait for the next installment of the series, like me!
