Disclosure: Thanks to Betty Crocker, via Business 2 Blogger for providing me with this great info, so that I can offer you, my lovely readers, some great ideas! This is a paid post, and I was compensated via a gift card, for providing the info. I was not told what to say and opinions are my own.
As we all know, the kiddie are out for the Summer- they're screaming "Hallelujah", and Moms (and Dads) are groaning!
Some of you may have Summer birthday parties to contend with (I feel for ya- nothing like trying to plan for 12 kids running around in 80 degree heat with 85% humidity, and melting cake frosting!), special events like family reunions, or even Vacation Bible School!
Tired of making the same old cakes for these events?
Betty Crocker has you covered! They have some great Summer birthday cake ideas on their website like:
Ice Cream Cone Cakes – Kids of all ages will love personalizing these single-serving cakes! And this infographic shows easy step-by-step directions for making these adorable (and delicious!) cakes. What a great idea for bored teenagers!
Ready for more fun cakes?
Watermelon Cake – Your family’s favorite fruit is about to get even more popular. This melt-in-your-mouth cake offers a surprise in every bite, with chocolate chip “seeds” and a green jelly bean “rind.”
Butterfly Cake – This beautiful, and fun, cake transforms a traditional birthday cake into a beautiful butterfly perfect for outdoor summer parties.
Flip-Flops Cake – Personalize these edible summer wardrobe favorites with candies and fruit snacks – transforming a sheet cake into footwear that looks (and is) good enough to eat.
As Miss Grace was off this week with nothing scheduled, we let her decide which one of the above Summer cakes she wanted to make!
No surprise, she picked the Flip Flop Cake, so she could decorate it like crazy!
To make it 'summery', we picked a Pink Lemonade mix, and used cream soda to make it super moist!
I also let her pick the color for the flip flops and she picked green. Unfortunately, she added too much green, and they went really dark. But she was happy, so we rolled with it. She had lots of fun decorating with assorted candies from the candy jar and her Kindergrad Prize Cone!
As you can see, she was super proud of her creation!
And we had a fun Start of Summer project!
So check out Betty Crocker today and find a fun Summer cake for your family today!
