As much as our family LOVES a good hearty homemade loaf of bread, we also love really great flatbread! Perhaps it is because we pretty much eat a varied menu of international foods, and are used to eating them, so when a chance came up to review the NEW line of flatbreads from Stonefire, we were happy to oblige!

Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads is a family-owned bakery with over 40 years of experience and a simple mission: To make one of a kind, authentic flatbreads. Founded by the Ajmera family, Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads bake authentic naan, roti and pita breads, using traditional baking methods, and the finest natural ingredients. Based in Ontario Canada, Stonefire Flatbreads is a division of FGF Brands. You may have seen them in the bakery department of your favorite grocery store!

One of the wonderful new items from Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads is their new
Italian Thin Pizza Crust with Sauce.

stonefire pizza flatbread

The flat bread crust is hand-stretched, baked on stone as they do in Italy, and made with all-natural ingredients. It retails for around $3.99, and comes in a round shape and is packaged with an authentic Italian sauce (made with just real tomatoes and basil). The crust is fully cooked - you simply top with your favorite ingredients, and bake for 7-10 minutes for a soft crust, or directly on the rack for 6-8 minutes for crispy.

Did someone say, “Family pizza and movie night?!
Get the kids to choose the toppings and they may even help out in the kitchen.

garlic naan

We were also sent packs of their Naan Flatbread in regular, whole grain and the new Garlic!

We immediately grabbed the Garlic, which is hand stretched like the pizza flatbread, , and made with fire roasted garlic and cilantro, for use for some more pizzas! Their naan flatbreads are baked in a tandoor oven, at high heat, to give them an authentic look with large bubbles, smoky flavor and airy texture. Made with buttermilk and ghee (clarified butter) they have a wonderful taste, and come 2 per package 2 per package.

Best yet- you can freeze them and use when you need them! You can even COOK them frozen, making for a super quick and easy dinner for hot Summer nights!

Miss Grace got busy with the pizza prep- we make homemade pizzas just about once a week, so she has gotten to be a real prop at it, with chopping ingredients and making pizzas 'just right'! As you can see we had left over spaghetti sauce with meatballs and pork sausage with mushrooms, Mozzarella and Provolone on the big pizza (and one of the naans) and left over General Tso chicken with the Stonefire sauce and Parmessan and Provolone on a naan. Hungry yet?

We didn't have much left over! Miss Grace loved the flat bread pizzas as she doesn't like traditional pizza crusts, and these are thin, but have the doughiness she likes from traditional pizza. Any time you can get a kid to want to prep and eat food that is good for her, you know you have a winner!

Stonefire has lots of great recipes on their website using the flatbreads, including desserts!, so be sure to check them out! And check out Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads on Facebook.and Twitter for special offers, more recipes and more!
