Ahh, Back to School- can you hear the school bells ringing yet?
We can! Our public schools start up next week (!!!) and Miss Grace starts mid month. She is less than thrilled! So starting this week, we'll be featuring items, books, and advice for Back to School! Today's products are wireless, made by companies you know and trust, and perfect for the busy co-ed, high schooler and Mom!
First up we have the Plantronics BackBeat GO 2 Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Earbuds
These ear buds are similar to the ones you love, BUT they do NOT have to be plugged into your device- they work via Bluetooth! Which means you can be hands free AND still get all the quality audio you expect from Platronics!
The BackBeat GO 2 Earbuds are designed to be up to military-grade moisture resistance standards, so they are safe for use during your workout! The earbuds come with three sizes of cushioned eartips and two attached fit stabilizers for a secure, comfortable fit. I found that I had to swap to the medium size and when I did, I had a perfect fit! They are easy to set up- you just charge them (via accompanying USB cord) and then activate your device's Bluetooth and search for the earbuds, sync up and you're ready to go!
You'll get up to 4.5 hours of listening time, and up to 5 hours of talk time from these ultralight earbuds, as well as up to 10 days of standby time. If you tuck it away and forget to power it off, the DeepSleep hibernation mode keeps the earbuds charged and ready to use for up to six months. That part alone os pretty cool, and one that I've tested with 2 days of standby already!
I love to use these earbuds while working around the house, as it is SO easy to use them to answer the phone, with the inline controller and microphone. Everyone I've called while using them has raved about the sound quality! Another big plus! And the inline controller lets you play and pause music, and skip tracks, and answer those calls! I got to about 25 feet away before it start loosing the signal, so basically in house it was fine. I also found that I can use it in the car, by just using one ear bud (for safety), so that I can make my phone hands free!
I switched them to my Nexus tablet and had no problems, same easy set up! If you link up the app, then it shows you how much battery life you have left- which is also very cool! You can purchase the earbuds with out without a nylon rechargeable case (which can get you 10 more hours of listening time). I love these new earbuds and you will too, or the luck student who gets them!
The Second item that can make your life easier is the SanDisk Connect 32GB Wireless Flash Drive. I know you're saying, so what is the big deal about a wireless flash drive? How about the fact that it can work while in it's charger on a wall outlet, WITHOUT having to be hooked to a computer? And that you can wirelessly send files from your cell phone or tablet to the flash drive? Yup- instant backup for your files, and you can clear the pictures from your phone (and free up a HUGE chunk of memory!)!
Set up is very easy- you plug the drive into it's charger, download the app, and then activate the flash drive (the silver button in it) and sync with your device! The wi-fi feature does NOT work when it is plugged into a computer. I found that out the hard way when I couldn't figure out why the wi-fi wouldn't activate! Read the instructions thoroughly, duh! Then you're ready to transfer or stream files back and forth!
In fact, you can stream and transfer from 8 devices at one time to the flash drive! The file transfer is pretty quick- it took me less than 15 minutes to transfer 879 photos form my cell to the flash drive! And the best part is I can then go to my back hard drive on my home computer and transfer the files from the flash drive to it, for permanent storage. Meanwhile, I can access the photos from my wi-fi printer, tablets and laptop! I love the control- you get to choose what files to transfer!
I've also found this works really well with streaming music! Now all my devices can share the same music, without having to load it on all of them! That is a big plus! You can get up to 4 hours of continuous streaming before the drive has to recharge.AND when I want to load music or video onto it, I can unplug it from the charger and plug it into the computer that has the file I want, load it, and then place it back on the charger and it is ready to sync via wi-fi again! This is a great option for the co-ed and student, or busy mom, and I highly recommend getting one if you have multiple devices- it helps you to free up memory on them all!
