We were out of fresh fruit and yogurt when the molds came in, so we decided to experiment with a bottle of water and a fruit punch packet. By using more water than the packet calls for, Miss Grace gets a drink she likes, but is healthier for her. So I wanted to see how far the mix would go with making them into pops!
I mixed up the punch mix in the water, then started adding it to the molds. Make sure to not fill them up all the way, as the lids have to have about 3/4 inch to snap into, and will displace whatever liquid is there, equating into spills, if you aren't careful. This air pocket is also helpful to allow them to 'unstick' from the sides and be pushed up.The flattened bottom end also helps with that. The punch mix, with about 3 tablespoons extra water, actually filled out all 6 bottles! Talk about cost effective!
It takes about 6 hours for the pops to freeze up. You do need to make sure they stay upright in the freezer- I just wedged them between products on the bottom door shelf, and they were fine! Miss Grace gave them a hearty thumb's up, especially when she found out that I added some candy sprinkles into one of the pops!
Miss Grace is already thinking about all the things she can mix together to make pops with, like blueberries from her uncles garden-watermelon is on the agenda for today, I'm thinking cafe au lait, and Dad is thinking iced coca cola! The possibilities are just endless!
These containers are easily cleaned and I love that they can go through the dishwasher!
Try them and you'll love them as much as we do!
