The author first suggests that to get to know someone, anyone, it is important we learn about their past-what they were like and what they did. But what is more important is what they are like and doing today. Why so? It's because people change. Well, so has Jesus. Yet every week in churches around the world people gather to hear a story. For almost two thousand years that story has been told and retold. It's about a man named Jesus of Nazareth--his birth, life, death, and resurrection. It's been dubbed "the greatest story ever told."
Make no mistake, that story is important--very important. It's about a real historical human being--the historical Jesus--Who walked, breathed, and left huge footprints in the sand of history and in the lives of countless billions ever since. But that story is also 2,000-year-old history! He's not like that anymore! This book unveils and lays out what Jesus, the contemporary Christ, is like and doing today. It also challenges its reader, throughout, and concludes by asking--Which Jesus will be the Jesus you now follow?
Review:
This latest work by Dr. Noe is one of the most intriguing and thought provoking books, that I have ever sat down to read. Nearly five hundred years ago, Martin Luther was branded a heretic by the existing Christian church. This was done because Martin Luther dared to go against the church’s teachings. After he nailed his 95 thesis on the door of the Wittenberg church, they went after him with a vendetta to prove he was wrong. Dr. Luther had the audacity to claim that those who believed could be taken to Heaven by God’s grace. No, no they said you must do good works, help the poor give your money to the church. However, Dr. Luther used all of scripture to back up everything he said.
So many people have done the same since then, but today we are told about the second coming of Christ to take all the believers away. We are told by others that a great Rapture will occur and all the believers will be taken to heaven, and a thousand year war will take place, and literally all hell will be brought upon earth. As Dr. Noe points out in his book, “The Greater Jesus” these things cannot not be true. There are no scriptural evidence to corroborate a second coming, a Rapture or any of the other man made teachings. Dr. Noe has done years of study of the scripture to corroborate his ideas. Dr. Noe has also done years of study on the Book of Revelation which for the most part many theologians have not done.
Even Martin Luther thought that St. John’s Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ should not have been inserted into the Canons. Luther thought that this book was too hard to understand for the common lay person. Nowhere in the bible, except Revelation, is there a description of the Son of Man, Jesus Christ. These and other things can be revealed with the help of the study of scripture. I highly recommend that if you are truly interested in these things, that you will read “The Greater Jesus” to see that the same Jesus that is working today, IS different from the Son of Man that came to earth, and saved us from our sins.
Jesus is not sitting around waiting for our Heavenly Father to tell him, go get my people. The Greater Jesus is active and continues to bring his people to Heaven. God Bless Dr. Noe for writing this wonderful book and God Bless us all.
