While Facebook has done it again and changed the rules!
Thanks to my monthly Rafflecopter newsletter, here are the 4 NEW and ONLY rules for bloggers using Facebook for promotions:
1. Promotions on Facebook must include a complete release of Facebook by each entrant or participant. and an aknowledgement that the promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
2. If you use Facebook to communicate or administer a promotion (ex: a contest or sweepstakes), you are responsible for the lawful operation of that promotion, ie the terms, official rules, and laws.
3. We will not assist you in the administration of your promotion, and you agree that if you use our service to administer your promotion, you do so at your own risk and responsibility
and
4. Promotions may be administered on Pages or within apps on Facebook. Personal Timelines must not be used to administer promotions (ex: “share on your Timeline to enter” or “share on your friend’s Timeline to get additional entries” is not permitted).
What that last means is, even though our promotions are held on this blog, they are broadcast on the Fan Page, so it applies to them as well.
So the option we've had on our giveaways for Facebook Sharing has now been changed, aka deleted. On giveaways already running, this will be changed to FREEBIE entry.
What is has been changed to is this:
Get one of your friends to enter this giveaway after you shared it with them!
Notice there is no mentioned of sharing on Facebook. If that was how you shared it, then you shared it that way, but I did not 'technically' tell you you would get an entry for doing so....
Right....it's semantics, but right now, this is ok.....

So- watch for the new entry option, and don't sweat your previous ones!
