As you know, I love my BB cream, and am always happy to check out others! So when I heard that Pond's, a name that has been trusted for over 150 years, had a new BB cream, POND’S Luminous Finish BB+ Cream, I was very intrigued when I read the blurb about it:

This multi-tasking beauty benefit cream provides flawless coverage in seconds PLUS more even skin tone in two weeks. Unlike other BB Creams, it provides both coverage and a wide range of skincare benefits including superior coverage of imperfections and visible dark spot correction, and to even skin tone in two weeks.

I received a sample kit of both the Light and Medium tint creams. My immediate reaction was that it is not as heavy as my normal BB cream (in theory that would be a good thing). My second reaction was that neither tint was correct for my skin tone- light was too fair and medium was too dark. So I knew I would need to combine both, to get the accurate color for my skin tone, as I have a yellow undertone, and can't use the light by itself.

As you can see by the color test on my hand, you can see how light the BB cream is. I found that once it set on my skin for about 10-15 minutes, it seemed to sink in better and offer a better coverage. It didn't feel greasy and I did like that it was a matte finish. I was also happy to note that it has SPF 15 protects against harmful UVA/UVB rays.

Many of the Influenster reviewers have given the cream an A+ rating, but I'm not. To be honest, it doesn't provide ENOUGH coverage for me. It is more of a basic coverage for running to the grocery store for instance, versus meeting your husband's boss. It says it has "superior coverage of imperfections and reduces dark spots". However it doesn't cover Rosacea at all. I still had the red areas, that looked like they had nothing on them. Now on my freckles, it covered. When I tested it on age spot on my arm, I found that it partially covered them, but didn't not fade them, even after 6 days of use. Now my mother used the fair tint on her hand, and her dark spots did fade. Perhaps it is more of how it reacts to your body, as it worked for her, but not me.

The Tone Perfecting Complex is also supposed to be formulated with Vitamin E Acetate – an antioxidant known to protect and repair skin and Glycerin – helps increase hydration, and brightens skin. I didn't see much difference while using the BB cream, versus using my daily moisturizing cream. It does remove easily with soap and water, or makeup remover, but I found that it really could not stand up to a whole day of Louisiana humidity, like the BB cream I normally use, and I had to apply foundation powder in the afternoon.

My biggest dispute is having to use 2 tints to get the right coverage color to begin with- that means purchasing 2 creams, and when it comes to makeup, I am in the 'less is more' stage and don't want to have to apply multiple items to cover Rosacea and imperfections, and then have to use more products later in the day because the coverage didn't last. This also means MORE cost to my makeups budget. Another problem is that there are only the 2 shades. So if you are darker than medium, you can't use this BB cream. Overall I'd give the BB cream a C grade. If I lived where there was no humidity, maybe a B, if they had more shades.
