Got you thinking on that title didn't I?

If you haven't watched the latest episodes of the cartoon series, or any of the movies, you may not know the answer to my question!

But if you have, then you're probably smiling and nodding your head!

You see, two of the voices of our beloved Scooby Doo characters are voiced by two actors we all know and love: Mindy Cohn, from the Facts of Life, is Velma (like no surprise there, RIGHT?), and
Matthew Liillard, the inquisitive reporter from the new series The Bridge, is Shaggy (and yes, he was Shaggy in the live person Scooby Doo 2nd movie too!!!!!

So now you know!

And how do I know?

Because Miss Grace recently had me sit through a Scooby Doo marathon day, that ended with our viewing the new DVD release- Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright!
(Did I mention she ADORES Scooby-Doo?)

Releasing on the 20th of this month, the DVD movie follows the gang on their latest ghostly mystery!

It’s an exciting trip to Chicago for Scooby, Shaggy and the Mystery Inc. crew when two of their own, songwriting duo Fred and Daphne, are finalists in the hit TV show, Talent Star. Not to be left out, Scooby and Shaggy have a secret act in the works, which they are betting will take the contest by storm.  Unluckily for everyone, the competition is frightful — the show is broadcast from an opera house with a history of horrors and a particularly vengeful phantom that has cursed the show’s production. From costume changin’ chases to creepy clues, the show must go on.  With a natural talent like Scooby-Doo on the case, you can be sure that the laughs, thrills and hijinks are always first place!

“We are constantly challenged to find fresh and exciting new adventures for Scooby and the gang. Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright!, with its TV Talent Show setting, really delivers on a spookily fun tale that appeals to Scooby-Doo fans young and old,” said Mary Ellen Thomas, Vice President Family & Animation Marketing and Partner Brands. She added, “We think fans will have a lot of fun with this new title. It has something for everyone…perfect for a family movie night.”

Miss Grace has watched the old episodes and I thought it was funny that she grimaced and said "they changed the theme song again" at the opening of the movie! Primarily because she was echoing my unspoken thoughts! Sometimes you need to leave well enough alone, but I assume it's part of the 'modernizing'....There were plenty of laughs and funny situations, though the 'talent show' stuff was not quite what we were expecting- while there were ghosts and mysteries to solve, there was a lot of focus on the talent show and conversations that were too adult for a 6 year old to truly comprehend. Scooby Doo has always appealed to adults and kids, so I wasn't surprised at this, I just think older kids would be more into the movie, having probably watching the different Idol/Talent shows (which she hasn't).
We still had an enjoyable time watching the movie, and Miss Grace equally liked the additional shorts included:  Don’t Fool with a Phantom and Never Ape an Ape Man.

Stage Fright! Blu-ray combo pack will include UltraViolet which allows consumers to download and instantly stream the standard definition theatrical version of the film to a wide range of devices, including computers and compatible tablets, smartphones, game consoles, Internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players. Always a plus for busy households on the go! The movie will also be available on standard DVD by itself.

So if you're looking for a great way to surprise your kids for Back to School, get them this video and have a Scooby Doo-ilicious family night like we did
