Now ya'll KNOW we live in Louisiana, right?

And just WHO do you think Miss Grace LOVES for all their camo, Christian, family, Louisiana glory?

That's right, the gang over at Duck Dynasty!
(though the boys just might be a bit put out, as she wants to meet Miss Kay FIRST,
then Uncle Si and then everybody else...)

So when I opened the package containing the latest VeggieTales DVD,
there was more than just ONE scream of joy,
there was a HUGE .....
merry larry cover

"IT'S UNCLE SI! HE'S A VEGGIETALE!"

And she promptly disappeared with the DVD.
SIGH.

After getting her OUT of her school clothes, she promptly advised me to bring her after-school snack to the front room, she had a MOVIE to watch! Okey dokey then....

The story:
Si Robertson, is transformed into a loveable and wise okra janitor named Silas. Silas narrates the adventures of the holiday flick, which stars Larry the Cucumber, the vibrant Head Elf of the mall who will stop at nothing to assist a compassionate young girl on her quest to help a neighbor in need for Christmas. Bob the Tomato co-stars as Phillip Fleagle, a harried mall employee who takes some time to realize that there is more to the holiday season than material gifts and light displays.
The uplifting theme song, “Light of Christmas,” from radio hit maker Owl City, featuring multi-Grammy award winning artist, TobyMac, brightens the release and is certain to be a holiday hit among children and music lovers of all ages.
How about a preview?

Review:
Miss Grace LOVE D LOVED LOVED this movie and has already watched it 3 times!  She has also told everyone she could about it- hey free PR! LOL But I'm happy, as the story itself is an important one- about sharing and what it truly means to love your fellow man, not only at Christmas, but all year long. The addition of Si Robertson is a perfect, as Duck Dynasty celebrates faith and family on every show, and try to install wonderful, traditional values, in their kids, just like VeggieTales does for your kids! You'll want to pick up one for your family, and a bunch more copies for gift giving this Christmas season (only 84 more days to go!)

And speaking of:

operation christmas child logo

In the Spirit of the holidays and in keeping with its core mission, VeggieTales is working with Operation Christmas Child, a global children’s project of Samaritan’s Purse. This year, Bob and Larry are official spokes-vegetables to encourage families to join in the collection of millions of shoebox gifts and to share God’s love with children in need. This is a wonderful project for your whole family, church or school class to participate in, and I urge you all to think about it as a great way to teach kids about serving others!

You could even host a special Merry Larry special video viewing night at your church or youth event, and have your participants help to fill boxes for Operation Christmas Child. You can get materials from Samritan's Purse (all FREE) to help, and you can purchase a special hosting event pack with activities, balloons and more at Big Idea!

How cool is that?
