Review:

I have the funny kid- she'd rather I bake her cakes and cookies for class, and special occasions, like her birthday, versus buying them from a local bakery or box store. Course she never wants anything say SIMPLE. So having never taken a formal decorating class, I've had to rely on some really good books to learn technique and recipes. I am thrilled to be able to add this book to that resource library! Kathleen really knows her stuff! Just check out her Pinterest and Facebook  pages for her AMAZING cake designs!  She takes you from something really simple like this amazing looking cake:

and on to to something more complicated,
but she breaks it down, so it doesn't seem so bad!
I really love these matching pirate cake pops- I may have to do something like that for Miss Grace's next birthday party!

And check out her takes on traditional Christmas Cakes:

and a wonderful Gingerbread Cottage:
Step-by-Step Cake Decorating gingerbread cottage and figures

The way she shows you on modeling the figures is so easy, it's almost criminal! I definitely will be using those instructions to make Miss Grace a little Irish Dancer in the future!

This is a superb resource book- even if you decide NOT to decorate the cake you need, but to show a baker/decorator the cake you want, as there are SO many great cakes in this book! I can't recommend it enough!
