With Fall upon us, and winter literally around the corner (!!), it's cold feet season!
The solution:
Did you know that the reason you loose 'heat' in exposed feet is due to the body's natural temperature control system? Yup- our head, toes, fingers, armpits, and groin, all have a greater amount of blood circulating, with a thinner skin, to regulate the body's temperature (thermoregulation). But on the flip side, If these areas are exposed to cold, they allow heat to escape quickly? Which is why you have to keep them warm, if in danger of hypothermia!
Ever notice that women's hands and feet tend to get colder before men's? It's because the set point temperature (the external temperature at which the body starts to conserve heat) varies by about three degrees. So when the external temperature drops to a certain point, your body will conserve heat by shutting off the blood flow to the hands and feet, making them feel chilled. For women, that temperature is about 70 degrees, while it's 67 to 68 degrees for men. AHA- see you have been right all these years! LOL
So how to reverse dipping below the set point? BUNDLE. Put your cold feet into insulated socks, shoes or slippers, and let your body's metabolic energy bring up the body's heat!. Heat Holders socks do JUST that by combining the best thermal technology to ensure that you never have to suffer the discomfort of cold feet again! the socks use a combination of soft cashmere-like fibres that are carefully blended together in a unique three stage knitting process. The patented extra-long looped pile adds to the overall warmth. The socks boast a 2.3 thermal tog rating, placing them ahead of normal ‘thermal’ socks in terms of warmth and heat holding capabilities. Check out why Heat Holders work so well:
Because I love ya'll, I decided to do a self- test on these socks at home!
We had 2 cold days in a row (woo hoo- FALL! the euphoria didn't last, it was back to 76 the next day...le sigh), so I purposely did NOT put the heater on in my room, while blogging for 3 hours, to see how well the socks would work (yes, it IS hard to type with gloves on, thanks for asking!). Let me back up for a second- we don't have central heat upstairs, and use portable heaters in the rooms, which work perfectly fine- when they're ON! Anyhoo, the room was a nice and chilly 60 degrees when I started and had gotten up to 65 degrees when I stopped. Cold feet? Yes and no.
As you can see, I had one regular sock on and one Heat Holders sock. Can you guess which foot was happy and toasty, and which one wanted the other Heat Holder sock VERY badly?
I wore my Heat Holders around the house religiously the rest of the day, and the next! Let me tell you, these socks are WARM. Forget the bulky skippers, or the heavy slipper boots, these socks are perfect for around the house, as they have sticky pads on the bottom, so you don’t slip on wooden or tiled floors in the house (yes, I know you LIKE doing your Risky Business impersonation now and then, but stay with me here). They also have a non-binding top, so they are VERY comfortable! I also found that coming in during early early morning hours after a long night shift, that if I took off the socks I had on, and put the Heat Holders on, my feet would regulate much quicker and then I could put on a light pair of socks and go to sleep MUCH faster (I can't sleep with cold feet, can you?).
The longer versions are designed with people who spend a lot of time outdoors in mind, like say hunters or those working construction or with animals!. Which of course means they are the PERFECT holiday gift!
The Heat Holders are sized for men, women, and children (including toddlers!) ! AND they have a wide array of colors, so you aren't stuck with black or white! You could even say match up to the kid's team colors! AHA! Yes, you CAN stay warm out there in the football bleachers! Buy these for everyone on your list, and everyone on your holiday list can be very toasty this winter!
I'm buying them for everyone on MY list!
Be sure to check out Heat Holders Facebook and Twitter pages, for holiday specials. Right now the socks are 20 % off!
