With out healthier eating, one of the things I'm on the outlook for for Miss Grace's smoothies and baked goods, are healthy anti-oxidants and ingredients.

So when the opportunity came up to review a new Kiss Me Organics Organic Matcha Powder,
 I was very interested!

Matcha is green tea from the Camellia sinesis (tea leaves are grown in the shade so the leaves achieve a dark green color, and help make it's amino acids), and is a fine powder version of the drink itself. Unlike other teas from the Camellia sinesis, matcha has not been fermented. One glass of matcha green tea is equal to 10 glasses of regular green tea, in regards to nutrients and antioxidants.

The benefits of Matcha powder are:

- ALL DAY ENERGY WITH INCREASED FOCUS- Matcha provides 4 to 6 hours of mild steady energy as it acts as both a stimulant and a relaxant. This is ideal for focusing on whatever the day throws your way. So it is super beneficial to have it in your morning smoothie!

-METABOLISM BOOST- Consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body's own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expediture.

-IMPROVED SKIN HEALTH- Scientists have discovered that Matcha Green Tea helps protect the skin from harmful UVrays, while improving blood flow and oxygen levels lifting the overall quality of the skin.

-137x THE ANTIOXIDANTS OF BREWED GREEN TEA- Antioxidants are essential as you age to boost your body's natural defenses against oxidation. Researchers have found that a high level of dietary antioxidants can prevent many age-related diseases.

-CALMING PROPERTIES COMBAT ANXIETY AND INSOMNIA-Matcha was originally used by Buddist monks for perios of intense meditation to . The L-Theanine amino acid promotes relaxation and well-being in the brain, more in Matcha grren tea, than in any other tea!

- A NATURAL FOOD DYE- worried about chemicals in food dyes? Use Matcha green powder and you can have naturally green colored baked goods!  Perfect for Christmas and St Patrick's Day!

Miss Grace is NOT fond of Matcha made green tea, so using Matcha powder in 'cooked' items for her instead,  is a great option for us! There is just about nothing that you can't add Matcha powder too! And there really isn't any flavor to taste once it's mixed in with other foods.

Check out a great holiday recipe that I derived off of a family 'blondie' brownie recipe and you'll see!

2. Mix eggs and sugar to a medium mixing bowl
3. Add olive oil to the eggs, vanilla and sugar, mix well.
4. Sift the flour, Matcha, and baking powder together.  The add to the mixed wet ingredients in 2 batches (half at a time) (to keep from having flour come out of bowl!)

6. ransfer the batter to your  greased baking dish. Try not to go 'EWWWWWW"- it may look like guacamole with chocolate chips, but trust me, it's gonna be yummy!
7. Bake brownies for 25- 30 minutes,  until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Don;t overcook, or brownies can get dry!
8. Immediately place remaining 1/2 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips on top of brownies, and allow to melt. When chips are melted, smooth with knife, to make frosting top.
9. Let brownies cool, serve and enjoy!

Kiss Me Organics offers a 100%, 30 day guarantee on their Organic Matcha powder! No questions asked, no hassle refund too! You can't beat that!

I'm very impressed with this brand of Matcha, and we'll be using it for a long while to come!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Interesting product I've never heard of this before I would love to try this in a smoothie.

  2. I love green tea and am a believer in its benefits. I drink it every day and even make wonderful iced tea with it. But I have not heard of Matcha before now. I will have to check it out when I can afford some. Thanks for the heads up and the recipe!

  3. I like the recipe for the brownies! It's interesting to see new products!
