Review:
It is important to remember that this book is a companion book to the MINI SERIES, not the actual bible. Yes, it is very close, but the mini-series and the book are told from a narrative/story point of view. It is easier to get into the story because of this, and having the pictures from the mini-series, more realistic to kids. It is one thing for them to see an illustrated book, but seeing pictures of real people portraying the characters from the Easter story, makes it more modern and applicable to them.In fact, you may need to prepare younger children for the pictures of Christ's suffering before and on the cross, as it may seem too realistic for them. This would be a great book to read together as a family the week before Easter, as it urges discussion at each of the important points along the way of the story. It also would make a lovely hostess present!
