Surf Sharks: The First Ride gift set 1

Review:

Surf Sharks tess and bella
This adventure series of book, collector cards and sticker book set are aimed at kids ages 6-12, who find learning about sharks cool, Miss grace among them! Se grabbed the sticker book and cards and fled,as soon as I had the package open! She was thrilled to find a girl surfer and a girl Hammerhead shark!  She was eager to pick up the book and learn all about the sharks, but a little disappointed that Tess and Bella didn't play a bigger part in the story, like the three boys.

The reading level is 2nd grade and up, so I did have to help her with some of the reading.  Se loved the cartoon aspect of the book ,and kept asking if it was going to be a cartoon series! So obviously Chance scored correctly on the book being attractive to kids! the colors are VERY bright and have a very modern edge to them, making you want to keep turning the pages!

As a parent, I was thrilled with the subtle lessons of helping one another and teamwork! By making the team work FUN (aka surfing with sharks), the concept of following the rules was also made more fun! Again, if you can keep a child interested and learning, I'm all for a different approach! this book is a great way to approach a different side of your kids interest in the natural world of sharks and allow them to enter a great new world!

Be sure to check out the Surf Sharks website to see Chance drawing the illustrations, to buy additional items and to paint sharks yourself, and to learn more about sharks! We can't wait to check out the next book in the series! Miss Grace and I give this gift set a huge high five and thumbs up!

And lucky you,my dear readers, one of you gets to win the same gift pack we reviewed!

About the Author:
Raised in Eastern Washington, Chance showed a passion for art from the time he could hold a pencil.  As a child, he devoted much of his time nose-deep into comic books admiring the art and mimicking it the best he could on any piece of paper available (including his homework).  Selling his first piece of art at age 11 was a clear indicator of a prospering career as an Illustrator that has now spanned over three decades. As a young adult, his path towards becoming a professional comic book artist began when his talents were discovered by an associate of iconic industry creative Todd McFarlane.

Chance began a tenure with McFarlane that would span over ten years, allowing the new artist to work on internationally recognized comic book titles such as Shadowhawk, Spawn and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just to name a few.Chance received an Emmy Certificate acknowledging his work on the HBO Animated Spawn series.  Chance became Todd’s right hand man on numerous assignments, including toy action figure art direction, designs for licensees and convention booth creation.  Chance was hand-picked by Todd to visit with X-Files creator Chris Carter in Hollywood in order to help finalize designs for McFarlane’s popular X-Files toy line.
