January has the Golden Globes, February hosts the BAFTAs, and March is home to the Oscars. What better time than awards season to announce the first ever award for loom bracelet fanatics! And just in time for Easter too! This month, “loomers” from far and wide will submit their creations for a chance to become a Super Loomer in the 1st Annual Loomy Awards!

The what you just said, didn't you?

The Loomy Awards are sponsored by The Original Loom Boom, a first-of-its kind product intended to organize, display, transport and share your loom bracelet creations. Winners will be chosen from four categories: Best Bracelet, Coolest Charm, Wackiest Wearable, and Best Loom Boom.

Three winners will each receive a $250 gift card, and one grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift card! Plus, all winners will receive a special edition of The Original Loom Boom!

Entries can be submitted on The Original Loom Boom’s Facebook page up until

2014, and winners will be announced on a live web award show April 30, 2014! So now there IS a reason for your kids to go NUTS about those itty bitty rubber bands (that no adult can seem to put together quickly, but that kids can put together and the speed of light///sigh).

But what is the Loom Boom, you're also asking yourself?

The Loom Boom has a bright-colored tube, that can hold up to 40 bracelets on it. The tube is also detachable from the base so loomers can transport and share, as well as have easy access to bracelets at the bottom. The base also contains extra storage compartments for loom bands, charms, clips, and other spare parts.  AND you can load all your supplies into the tube and carry it with you on the go!

How the Loom Boom came about is really a great story for kids to learn from!

Like all loom-crazed households, rubber-band bracelets were taking over Katy & Lauren's houses. They loved the kids learning, dexterity and sense of accomplishment, but those band bracelets had nowhere to go except for stuck in the furniture or the dog's teeth (been there with the cat myself).  Then ive-year-old Jake decided to place his ever-growing collection of bracelets on a paper towel roll!  And Katy and Lauren did the proverbial head slap, and had a business idea. It didn't catch any one's interest until they brought it to Toys R Us, who immediately saw the need and future of the item, and got it into production! Isn't it amazing what kids can see and invent?

Miss Grace just got her first Loom for her birthday and we haven't much time to make bracelets yet, but she was thrilled to be able to have a holder for them! And since I just redid all her jewelry and assorted boxes and got everything organized, I love the fact that the bracelets will not be in the boxes tangling up with her good bracelets and necklaces! Such a simple item, but oh how needed it is! We love it- and it would be perfect for adding to the older child's Easter basket!

The Loom Boom is  sold at Toys R Us, Learning Express,  and Michael's stores nationwide,
as well as online.

But lucky you- one lucky BTHM reader is going to win their own Loom Boom, just in time for Summer, when all those rubber band bracelets will take over your house and yard yet again!
