  1. My favorite mom memory is when I was young, I used to 'walk' with her to the bus stop in the morning and then meet her to walk home in the afternoons. The bus stop was a mile away from our house up and down hills and my mom would walk a 12-13 minute mile. My short legs would have to practically run to keep up with her. But, I did it every day so she wouldn't have to walk alone. I would go slower once I was by myself...

  2. Traits in common...hmm...thorough, honest, calm, shy, good at keeping the family centered. Not very exciting but that's the way we are/were.

  3. I don't know that my mom ever did anything funny in her lifetime. She did, however, laugh through my first wedding ceremony. Turned out she was right to laugh as it ended a year and a half later. Mom knows best.

  4. When I was young my mother would take me to wonderful concerts since my father would find an excuse to attend so I benefited and loved this outing. We would take the bus to the concert hall, far, and in the winter, bundle up and be captivated with the Yiddish singer, Martha Schlamme. On our way home I would remark upon the many adults out enjoying their Saturday night dining and movie. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com

  5. My mother would joke about the relatives she had. She would mention how generous some were, how cheap others were and how kind others were. She had a way with words and it was always entertaining to listen to her comment about the family.

  6. My mother has passed on, but we share many traits and even more now that I am older. I am thrifty and she was always careful, she had to be since she was a child of the depression, she was a wonderful correspondent and so am I, and she loved to read and so do I. Many more. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
