Synopsis

A top allergy specialist provides a simple holistic program that helps a broad range of allergy sufferers heal themselves naturally.

THE 7 DAY ALLERGY MAKEOVER is written for people who want to take an active role in their own healing. The book lays out action-oriented, step-by-step instructions on uncovering the root cause of allergies, and makes simple but specific changes that can stop allergy symptoms from recurring.
What began as a mother’s desperation to save her son has led to a comprehensive program that helps a broad range of allergy sufferers heal themselves naturally. As an allergy specialist, Dr. Susanne Bennett sees roughly 100 patients a week, from children to movie stars. They come to her after exhausting every resource: doctors, medicines, creams, shots, you name it. They suffer from hives, sneezing, headaches, asthma, muscle aches, swelling and digestive problems, and more. THE 7 DAY ALLERGY MAKEOVER, based on 23 years of Dr. Bennett’s clinical experience, is an easy-to-implement and transformational plan for eliminating allergies from your life forever.

Each chapter in THE 7 DAY ALLERGY MAKEOVER focuses on a different aspect of health and environment for a person suffering from allergies--nutrition, air quality, living environment, water, body hygiene, and emotional and mental stresses.

Review:

Having had friends whose children passed allergy tests, but were having severe reactions to something in their lives or that they were coming in contact, I have become very 'allergy conscious', so I was quite interested in reading this book! Dr. Bennett really gives the reader a 100% true mini-medical course in not only what an allergy is, but how it has different levels (like sensitivity versus causing anaphylactic shock), and how an allergen can be more than something in the air or being ingested by our bodies.

The book is helpful to try to eliminate things that might be causing your allergy symptoms. Having gone through this process with friends, and a little with Miss Grace (re her gluten sensitivity), it is really best to eliminate one possible cause and see if you get changes. If not, then eliminate something else, until the wanted results are scene. It takes time, so the 7 day concept is really more of a starting point, as most allergy sufferers need a couple of days to stop reacting to the allergen once it has been removed.

I love the symptom check lists that she has in the book, to help you pin point where you need to start looking at a possible cause. Her indexes with trigger foods and ones to avoid are also really great for those having no idea what foods might be causing their symptoms (who knew a sensitivity to eggs could cause joint pain?). her chapters on water and hygiene products may make you question everything ! It is an eye opener of a book, and I urge everyone to read it, to see if you might have allergy  issues, you didn't realize you did!
