Review:
I had not seen the series on TV, so I was intriqued by how the game would be transformed into a teen series. I hadn't started Miss Grace on the game yet, as I was saving it for Fall family game night sessions. So before starting the movie, I gave her a quick run down of the game, and then we sat down together to watch the story. I was highly amused at her eagerness to 'solve' the mystery before the big kids did! She got out her trusty note pad and pencil and starting 'tracking clues' and trying to solve the mystery (ok, so maybe she's seen a bit too much Scooby Doo...LOL).
Yes, those are ALL her notes. Even the cat got into it, before she got too exhausted by the flurry of note taking and had to nap. LOL. Meanwhile I was trying to see how they would incorporate the 'color' characters into each of the teens, and I have to admit they did it pretty creatively! The story line had plenty of twists and turns to keep both of our interests and I really loved how they solved the mystery at hand, yet opened up a new one, presumingly for a new season or later movie. The executive producer hasn't said whether he was going to reassemble the cast for another mystery, and now after 3 years, I imagine he won't have the ability to get them all at one time. It is a shame, as Miss Grace was glued to the show, and she would have be a huge fan,has it kept on!
If you're looking for a fun late Summer activity for your older kids/teens, this would be a great starter movie to lead to their own science projects, research of Tesla and his inventions, and even creative writing, in trying to figure out what happened next, after the movie ended!
