Are you looking for a great tasting snack to put in the kids' lunches when they go back to school?
Concerned about what is actually IN your kids' snacks?
I have a solution for you!
Bare snacks are crafted using only real, whole-food ingredients and are motivated by a founding philosophy of creating delicious snacks with seven ingredients or less, that you can actually pronounce and nothing artificial ever.
We were sent a sample pack of their new products to check out:
That's right! The new bare snacks are a new line of mouthwatering Crunchy Coconut Chips ! Yippee!
We LOVE coconut!
Like all the bare snacks products, they are gluten free, Non-GMO Project Verified, kosher, a good source of dietary fiber, and are free of refined sugar, preservatives, cholesterol and trans fats. Plus they are made at a seed, dairy, soy, egg and nut-free facility! So they are safe for everybody!
Now THAT is something every parent can be thrilled about!
There are 5 flavors to choose from- we were sent Simply Baked, Show Me the Honey and Sweet Heat (jalepeno). The other two flavors are Chocolate Bliss and Sea Salt Caramel!
As you can see you get really good size chips:
Miss Grace just about ran off with the first bag that was opened- she loves coconut SO much! But I was able to rescue some of the bag for a quick recipe- involving bacon, coconut and chocolate, because they just go together. LOL. In fact Miss Grace wanted to suggest to bare snacks they make a bacon flavored coconut!
Yes, you know you want one!
They were beyond yummy- a perfect mix of flavors!
Here's the recipes we used:
Bacon Coconut Chocolate Chocolate Cupcakes:
Ingredients:
Cupcakes:
1-1/2 cups unbleached white or organic pastry flour
1/3 cup organic cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 cup cane sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil (can also use olive or vegetable oil)
1 cup cold coffee (you can also use water or a stout Irish beer!)
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (you can use lemon juice, if you don't have it)
Frosting:
1/4 cup butter2 oz. dark chocolate, chopped (you can also use dark chocolate chips)
2 tbsp. organic cocoa powder
1 cup confectioners’ sugar (you can try using cane sugar, if wanting to keep organic, but you don't get the same taste or consistency)
2 tbsp. cream (or milk)
1/2 tsp. organic vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Prepare muffin/cupcake pans- recipe should make 20-24, depending on how much batter you put in cups
3. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and sugar in a large shallow bowl.
4. In small mixing bowl (or large measuring cup), mix oil, coffee and vanilla. Pour mic into your flour mixture, and whisk until smooth. Stir in vinegar gently, just until evenly distributed.
5. Pour batter into prepared pans, about 2/3 full for each cup. NOTE: I also chopped some dark chocolate chips that I had left over and added them to the top of the cupcake batter in each cup, for more added punch! Bake cupcakes for 10-15 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Allow to rest in pan for 3-5 minutes, then put on wire cooling rack to cool.
6. Make your praline bacon while oven is still hot (see recipe below).
7. While cupcakes are cooling, and bacon is cooking, make your frosting:
In a small, microwave safe bowl, melt together butter and dark chocolate, in 30-45 second intervals, stirring frequently, until mixture is smooth. Cool for about 5 minutes, or until almost room temperature.Put into a larger mixing bowl, and beat in cocoa powder, 1 cup of the sugar, cream, and vanilla, beating until frosting is smooth and slightly fluffy. Add additional confectioners’ sugar to thicken, if needed.
8. Frost cupcakes, then add drumbled praline bacon and chopped bare snacks Coconut Chips.
9. Enjoy the love you receive when everyone eats your cupcakes!

Brown Sugar/ Praline Bacon
Ingredients
4-5 slices of smoked style bacon, uncooked
Demerara sugar or brown sugar
Pecans, chopped- optional
Directions:Position rack in top third of oven and preheat to 400°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with foil (go over the edge for easier cleanup). Then place large wire rack on the lined baking sheet and arrange bacon slices in single layer on it. Sprinkle Demerara/brown sugar evenly over the bacon, giving it a good coating. IF you want the full effect, you can add chopped pecans and cover with more sugar! Bake until bacon is crisp and glazed, 15 to 18 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and crumble into preferred size pieces.
Miss Grace also experimented with the bare chips on her morning cereal and on a peanut butter sandwich. The first got raves, the second, not as much, but I thought Honey Coconut chips on PB was pretty great!
As you can see bare snacks coconut chips are more than just a snack out of the bag, you can also add them to your favorite meal, or recipe, for more added goodness and flavor! We LOVE them! And as a parent, I love that they keep for 15 months in the sealed bag, so I can buy them in bulk and not worry about them going bad before we can eat them!
The Bare Snacks Product lines also includes Natural Crunchy Apple Chips, dried fruit and organic apple chips. They use Fuji and Granny Smith apples, for great taste, and their special slow-baking oven caramelize the natural apple sugars, creating a sweet, naturally crunchy snack Check out their store locator page, for a retailer near you, or you can order online!
And FYI, bare snacks is also a proud sponor of the US Olympic Water Polo Team!
