And now for a new cookbook that is sure to please everyone on the family!
Synopsis:
Ground Up! is an indispensable collection of delicious ground meat and poultry recipes. Covering the classic ground beef dishes, along with pork, lamb, turkey and chicken, this book offers a wide variety of dishes with everything from hearty mains to tasty appetizers to whet your appetite. With so much to choose from, this is a wonderful addition to any cook's bookshelf.
Review:
I love this book! It has 4 sections of recipes, all containging with ground meat:
- 15 comfort recipes like Meatloaf, Beef Fried Rice and Creamy Chicken Hash
- 14 Spice It Up recipes like Thai Chicken Patties, Beef Nachos and Pork Meatballs in a Chili Broth.
- 14 Pasta Partners recipes like Turkey Stroganoff, One Dish Beef and Pasta and Chicken and Mushroom Lasagna, and
- 15 Tasty Appetizers, like Mini Chimichangas, Crispy Pork Dumplings and Beef Croquettes!
Most of the recipes are interchangable- you could change the ground pork for ground turkey, for example, you just may need to alter the spices some! Which is great, as you can cook by what you have in the freezer, or by what is on sale! All of the recipes share prep and cooking times, so you know exactly what it will take to make them- perfect for busy parents! I loved that the recipes covered a wide ethnic spectrum as well, making them great for introducing young children to unfamiliar foods. The ingredients are those available at any grocery store too, but most of the recipes have something different added to them, to make then new and enticing! This cookbook would make a great starter cookbook for newlyweds, new parents or for a foodie for Christmas!
Recipe:
It was hard to decide which recipe to share with you, as I have been slammed, and we've haven't had time to make any of the recipes from the book yet. But as you can tell, I've bookmarked quite a few, so you'll see more in the upcoming weeks!
Here is a recipe that is perfect for every picky eater- a cross between macaroni and cheese and a meat sauce!
Meaty Macaroni and Cheese
