And now off to the beautiful Aumakua Island...........
Synopsis:

Archaeologist Dr. Michael Stone looked for the lost medallion his entire life, and now his son Billy has taken up the search. Amazingly, the medallion ends up in Billy's hands and a spontaneous wish in a precarious situation takes Billy and his best friend Allie, back 200 years to what they realize is a very different Aumakua Island.

When Billy and his friends are not jumping off waterfalls, avoiding animal traps, crossing the ocean, sneaking through caves or escaping a prison they're facing their nemesis Cobra, who wants nothing more than for them all to disappear.

With no other way to get home, and the well being of the entire i
sland resting on his shoulders, Billy must discover the key to reclaiming the medallion and its tremendous power. One way or another, this adventure will change Billy, and life on the island, forever.

Review:

Looking for a all encompassing adventure book (especially for boys), that will ignite their imagination ala Harry Potter, but is Christian based? Then this is the book for your kids! Aimed at kids around age 9-11, the book teachers valuable moral lessons, while instructing life lessons. Kids love a great mystery as much as their parents do, and this book will keep them turning the pages! Miss Grace said it reminded her of the quest from the Princess Bride! I love the modern technology involved, that allows the reader to scan QR codes and see video clips from the movie, bringing the story to life, even more for young readers! It is an interesting meld of the old and new, and one that may be seen more and more in YA genre. This is a great book to read together as a family, and then watch the movie together. It should lead to some great discussions on leading a Christian life and positive actions. It would be great for YA youth group activity/movie night!
