Every year, with back to school I urge you to reconsider you car child safety passenger seats.
WHY?
Because over the Summer your kids will have grown, and they may now be able to go to forward facing, into a tall booster, or out of a booster!
This is important so that they get the RIGHT protection for their age, height and weight!
Did you know that motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 1-12 years old?
Year after year, that stat does NOT change, and yet in many cases these deaths and injuries could have been prevented by proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts! That something so SIMPLE is still not followed correctly is not only scary, it's a crime!
This year, we're asking people, groups, organizations, and brands to use the hashtag #MyWhy to “pledge” their commitment to ensure child passengers always ride in the appropriate car seats for their age and size. This includes registering car seats and booster seats, so you know about any important safety recalls (there have been a lot of them this past year!). And we want you to “show-and-tell”(show (photos or videos) and tell (tweets or posts)) us the reason why you choose to help yous kids ride safely.

o Send out a tweet with your message and photo, for example: “My future dancer is #MyWhy for making
sure her car seat fits properly"
or
Retweet this message: "Parents who really know it all, know for sure their child is in the
right car seat. #MyWhy Visit safercar.gov/therightseat via @childseatsafety."

o Share a post with you why and photo, for example: "I registered my car seat because my
daughter is the most important thing in my life. #MyWhy"
or
Share this message: “Are your kids in the right car seats for their age and size? Know for sure. Visit
safercar.gov/therightseat and find you #MyWhy. "
