If you read the earlier doll post, you might have said
"my daughter likes smaller dolls that are more lifelike".
Well I have a solution for you too!
Launched in August 2012, Lottie is a new, innovative doll for children aged 3- 9. A wholesome antidote to other leading doll brands, Lottie has been purposefully designed under expert guidance, to both look and dress as a regular child – a childlike body shape, no make-up, jewelry or high-heels.
She's the doll you WANT your kids to be playing with!
Lottie also has the ability to stand on her own two feet, in both a very literal and metaphorical sense. Lottie is fun and educational; an affordable, aspirational ‘pro girl’ doll.

Lottie has a personality that ALL little girls will be able to relate to- she is feisty, she is strong, and while she may occasionally make mistakes, she learns from them. She is not perfect. She loves adventure and the outdoors and uses her imagination. In many ways, she is inspired by the spirited female characters in books we all loved as children: Anne of Green Gables, Pippi Longstocking, Jo in ‘Little Women’, Nancy Drew and George in the ‘Famous Five’.
Since her debut, Lottie has won 19 awards in the USA, Canada and UK, including 5 Oppenheim Portfolio Platinum Awards, generated international press coverage and been the beneficiary of positive parent and blogger reviews.
We were recently sent one of the Lottie dolls, and an accessory package to review,
meet the Snow Queen :
Lottie is thrilled to receive a party invitation to the Masked Ball. Inspired by one of her favorite stories (you know the ones your daughters are STILL singing about, like Miss Grace), Lottie decides to dress as a Snow Queen. Wearing a silver, sparkly mask, her a magnificent ice blue and frosty white gown studded with silver snowflakes, topped by a white furry wrap and with a blue snowflake purse – will any of her friends recognize her?
Lottie is smaller than your average 'poseable' doll at stands 7.5 inches (18cm) tall, making her not only very easy for little hands to handle, but also to carry around. You can see the difference, when I posed her next to one of Miss Grace's other dolls. BIG difference. Just by looking at them, you know your child will gravitate to the Lottie doll! And be HONEST- which one do you want YOUR child playing with at age 6? Yup, me too. I LOVE Lottie!
Some other big differences with Lottie:
- Her hair is lovely and soft, and it doesn’t tangle and knot like other doll hair. All moms just said "SCORE!" didn't you? Anyone who has had to wash a doll's hair and comb it out with laundry softener, know how huge this is!
- Lottie has bendable knees, with ball socket hips and arms, so she can do the splits front to back and side to side, and ride a pony in the correct form, and stay ON the pony! Her head can also move side to side, giving your daughter a more realistic play doll.
Lottie is also presented in a very adorable illustrated and collectible ‘doll box bag’, that has it's own carrying handle built in, and a wonderful illustration and bio on the back. It takes all of 2 minutes to undo Lottie, which as you parents know is a HUGE difference from the normal 10-15 minutes to get a doll out of all it's plastic packaging and wire ties! The accessories are in little plastic bags, so there is no worry about them being lost in shipping either!
We were also sent the Blue Velvet Outfit Set, and as you can see, it offers a lovely alternative fancy dress for Lottie to attend a holiday party in! The outfit set includes a silver sparkly cardigan, a blue velvet-style dress with purple ribbon sash, white tights and sparkly silver ballet flats. The clothes are easy to put on and off, with well sewn velco fastenings. And everything is age appropriate- no low cut/ high cut dresses for Lottie! As a parent there is NO worry about what you child is playing with!
Lottie even has her own pony, Seren!
She has a soft brushable mane and tail, so your daughter can brush him too! Seren comes with a saddle, bridle, stirrups and numnah (a saddle pad that acts as a protective cushion between the pony and the saddle). All that and under $20? When was the last time you found a play horse as adorable and inexpensive? Me either- I've already ordered one for a Christmas present for Miss Grace! All the Lottie items can be purchases online via Amazon , and at under $20, they are VERY reasonable indeed!
You can download some great crafts from the Lottie website, and they will have online games soon! They also have a monthly 'Where's Lottie?" photo competition!
If you sign up for Club Lottie, to get their newsletter, you'll also get special offers and previews! Note- you might get an error screen- but all it is doing is asking for you to answer 4 more questions, that aren;t on the main screen, so just complete the second screen and you're signed up!

What a cute doll I like that they don't try to make the doll look older than she should.
