Today I have something so wonderful for your pre-teens and teens!

A Christian band that makes music your kids will WANT to hear and sing along with!

They have recently gone independent and released their new album this month:

vip cover

It has been three years since Manci Drive's last album, which was why I wasn't familiar with them. From the cover, I figured they might be a 'boy band', but was intrigued by the idea that they were also known as a power-pop christian trio. They decided to go out on their own, to keep control of their songs and sound. They worked on their songs and then successfully funded a Pledge Music campaign so that this, their 5th album, free of label restrictions, could be released to their fans. You have to admire that type of strength and determination.

The new album is 30 minutes of toe-tapping, energetic Christian music!

The cd includes:

  • Electric (Featuring Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch)
  • VIP (Featuring Manwell)
  • Street Lights
  • King of Mercy
  • Good News
  • I Hide You Seek
  • Song To Sing
  • Fire
  • Indestructible
  • Rhythm

    Review:

The cd deals with "issues of standing up for your faith and being bold in your walk with Christ,” says Shawn. As we all know, these are key issues that are pre-teens and teens have to deal with on a daily basis, and that leas them to walk away from their faith (for many of them). This cd will grab their attention, have them singing along, and then realize what they are singing about, and be PROUD of their faith! It is a cd that you, as a parent, will love to have in the car blasting away! Personally I LOVE Electric for it's techno-pop/dub beats and Song to Sing for it's blending of the old and new in Christian music! This is a brutally HONEST cd, and one that will really allow you to open up and have some great discussions about faith with your kids! I really recommend it for all pre-teens and teens!

    ABOUT THE BAND:
Manic Drive has been widely known as a Canadian band who always delivers a great show, but over the past few years and project releases, they have added to their extensive touring of Canadian and US markets multiple Billboard Top 10 & 20 singles on CHR & Christian Rock Radio. The band have released four albums, receiving two Gospel Music Association of Canada Covenant Awards. The band currently consists of brothers Shawn (lead vocals, keyboards) and Michael Cavallo (lead guitar, backing vocals), as well as Anthony Moreino (drums). The band members, all in their early-mid twenties, have made sacrifices to pursue God’s call on their lives. Their life experience, spiritual maturity and ministry have opened doors to speak into the lives of their own generation and that is perhaps the most defining characteristic of this group of guys.

    Charity
Another element Manic Drive greatly values is their partnership with Compassion International (one of our favorite charities). Says Shawn, “It has allowed us to bring a greater world focus to our show which hopefully gives the fans an even deeper creative experience at our events.” Michael adds, “Our relationship with Compassion International has been both an honor and a blessing. Teaming up with Compassion has given Manic Drive a tangible way to live what we sing; it's given us a new and expanded purpose for touring. Spreading the awareness of children suffering, taking action on it and truly seeing lives changed has really put things in perspective for us as a band. We are thrilled to see our generation take action and volunteer to sponsor children at our shows. We have sponsored a child for years through Compassion International and are excited to now include our fans in what we do as a band.”
