And now for another great book for your new ereader/tablet!

Synopsis:

When the body of journalist Duncan Brown is found in the back of a rubbish truck, Inspector John Carlyle is thrown into the middle of a scandal that threatens to expose the corrupt links between the police, the political establishment and the hugely powerful Zenger media group. Hunting down Brown's killer, Carlyle finds himself going head - to - head with his nemesis, Trevor Miller. A former police officer turned security adviser to the Prime Minister, Miller has dirty money in his pockets and other people's blood on his hands. Untouchable until now, he is prepared to kill again to protect his position - having failed once already to dispose of Carlyle he is not prepared to slip up again...

Review:

This one is VERY much a modern political take combined with a British police procedural, that feels like it could have been ripped from headlines in any major city around the world. It is a fast paced story that you will not want to put down! I finished it in 2 sittings and am looking forward to reading more in the series (this is the 9th book in the series). Carlyle is not a 'super detective' but he is doggedly stubborn, and that allows him to finally see clues that tie the many coincidences together, that had seemed like red herrings and off-tangents. This makes for a satisfying read, and one that that will make you think about the coincidences you see in your local paper! Don't miss this one!
