Synopsis:

The book is the culmination of several years of extensive compiling and research into the wisdom of over 350 of some of history's most insightful people. Wheler’s detailed work includes 22 simultaneously illuminating and entertaining chapters. Each chapter fuses humor, wit, wisdom, history and criticism into its pages of interwoven quotations. Controversial topics have not been avoided, as Wheler addresses religion, politics and society all through the informative lens of some of history's greatest minds.

Review:

If you're looking for a quote to a card, writing piece, or just as a great comeback, you're sure to find what you're looking for in the book! The illustrations are equally funny and appropriate, as you can see above. It is a pretty decent resource book, and if you have a budding writer or trivia buff, this is a book they will love to see under the Christmas tree this year. It IS secular in nature, as the religion quotes tend toward the liberal side (as do some of the political ones). But all in all, it's a handy reference and a lovely gift to give for the hostess, or other gift recipient, who has everything!

About the Author:

BRADFORD G. WHELER is the former CEO, President and Co-owner of Allan Electric Company. He sold Allan Electric to a New York Stock Exchange listed company. After staying on as President during the transition, Brad retired. 

Brad’s lifelong love of history, art, books, and the inherent humor in man’s nature led to the founding of BookCollaborative.com and the publishing of this book, as well as INCA’S DEATH CAVE (which I'll be reviewing later this month). an archaeological mystery thriller, GOLF SAYINGS,  CAT SAYINGS, HORSE SAYINGS and DOG SAYINGS.

His community involvements include being a Trustee of Community General Hospital in Hamilton, NY, and chairing their Finance Committee. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cazenovia College, and former Chairman and member of the Board of Directors and Alumni Association and President of the Sigma Phi Society at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce and several other boards. Brad, his wife, Julie, and their golden retriever Quincy live in Cazenovia, NY and Fort Pierce, FL.
