Every year you string lots and lots of lights and have to figured out a complicated electricla grid and hook up system, don;t you?
I know I did!
BUT what if you have an area that can't be reached?
Or is you don't want to to worry about overloading your electrical system?
Silicon Solar recently shared with me their solution:
SOLAR Christmas Lights!
I was sent a set of their Patio Pal Series Multi-Colored Light set
This 30 light set contains blue, red and green blinking LED lights that are powered by a high-efficiency solar panel The lights come on automatically at dusk and remain illuminated for 5 -6 hours on a full days charge. How cool is that? I have our full yard display on the same timer, so they come on at the same time!
To start, you simple place the solar charger out in full sun for 8 hours. Our set actually required 2 days worth of charging, as we had intermittent clouds. Then all you do is place your lights where you need them, turn the time switch on the bottom to on, and place the panel stake in the ground and you're done. Easy peasy!
The lights do not blink at the same time- not sure how the company got their picture above! The red blinks, then the greens, then the blues, and it starts over. It;s a pretty quick sequence, and why I had problems trying to capture pictures!
The cord runs 11.5 feet, so you can wrap a wreath, around a tree or light pole, your patio railing, with ease. You also have 6.5 feet from the panel to the beginning of the lights, so you can hide your panel away from whatever you are using the lights on (just make sure the panel can get full sub to recharge!).
Note: The solar panel does require 2 AA rechargeable batteries to help control the charger, but they come with the set!
Right now the lights are on sale for HALF price! And they have more Holiday lights- webs, icicles, white lights (including 100 light strings). all on sale! So head on over to Silicon Solar and get YOUR Solar solutions for your outside holiday decor!
Solar Christmas lights what a great idea.
