This new book in the Carlyle series comes out in 2 weeks!

Synopsis:

All things—good or bad—must come to an end …

Inspector Carlyle gets the shock of his life when his mother announces she is divorcing his father after fifty years of marriage. But it’s nothing compared to the storm that erupts when he stumbles across the execution of a wealthy businessman in a luxury London hotel room.

The victim is the latest casualty in a string of murders committed by a ruthless Israeli hit squad. Going up against the deadly crew could prove fatal, but with trouble at home, Carlyle distracts himself by diving headfirst into the investigation.

But as the body count rises, things begin to get personal …

Review:

The Inspector Carlyle series is different, than your typical British police procedurals, in that Carlyle is flawed. He walks the line between right and wrong daily, occasionally sliding over it, in the name of justice, with his good friend who is a good cop gone bad. He has a wife he loves, and a teenage daughter who rampages against him and his rules, yet finds his father (whom Carlyle never connected with) worthy. His parents are getting a divorce after 50 years. Yup, dysfunction 101.

All of that is what makes this series SO intriguing! You literally can NOT put this book down once you start reading it! You want to see how all the issues in Carlyle's life are going to play out. the book plays out as part spy thriller and part British mystery, and is so much of a roller coaster read! You will be rooting for the 'bad guys' to win over the 'good guys', and for true justice to be meeted out in the end, after a death count that was too high. The book sets up many potential story lines for the series, and I will be interested in seeing how the author plays them out in the next couple of books!

If you are looking for a British series that you can't put down, pick up this one!
