We've shared the charity program Causora with you last year, and I'm thrilled to be able to share a new program from them, that is PERFECT for Valentine's Day!!

Causora is a registered fundraiser and working with charities such as the Red Cross, Food for the poor, Charity: Water and many more and guarantees all disbursements back to the charities. Causora also works with companies such as Bing/Microsoft, Sony/GSN, MTV and smaller businesses that use the platform to enable users to make a positive impact in the world. This concept is unique and new and is based on individual and specific actions that are transparent.

charity impact card

The Charity Impact Card is an eGift card that allows a user to make specific charitable impacts such as Giving one meal to a child in need, planting one tree, or even removing 1 lb of ocean trash. You  can select causes based on topics that YOU personally care about, and create a measurable impact.

All you have to do is sign in and purchase a code for your recipient, at any value from $3 to $100. This translates into 1,000 impact points for every $1 spent. So even a $3 purchase is 3,000 points for your recipient to spend.

You send the card to your recipient, and then they can log in, enter their code and make a positive impact on the world around us, in ways that they prefer!  How simple and easy is that??

We were given the chance to check out the program and Miss Grace helped me pick out where to give out points, with 3 different charities:

1. Give a Child a Meal- 300 points
Food For The Poor (http://www.foodforthepoor.org) feeds millions of hungry people throughout the countries they serve. Their Christian relief programs and projects are helping children and the poorest of the poor by providing food, housing, health care, education, water projects, emergency relief and micro-enterprise assistance in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Your redemption  makes a tremendous difference by providing a meal to a child in need.

We provides a meal for a hungry child in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Miss Grace was thrilled as this is a program she has supported before.

2. Create a Bee Habitat- 400 pts
Plant a clay seed bomb with Honey Love (www.honeylove.org) -. Made from a mixture of clay, compost and bee-friendly plant seeds, seed bombs are a great way to combat the many forgotten grey spaces you encounter every day; from sidewalk cracks to vacant lots and parking medians. The clay protects the seeds until it is washed away; while inside the compost is nourishing the seeds to take root when the clay balls opens. You can throw seed bombs into any abandoned site to reclaim and transform it to a place worth looking at and caring for. The seed mix includes: Lance Leaved Coreopsis, Purple Coneflower, Perennial Lupine, Perennial Blanketflower, Crimson Clover, Dwarf Sunspot Sunflower, California Poppy, Partridge Pea, Dwarf Lupine Pixie Delight, Arroyo Lupine, Mexican Hat, Cosmos, Plains Coreopsis, Lacy Phacelia, Butterfly Milkweed, Poached Egg Meadowfoam and Wild Bergamont. Each clay seed bomb protects 5 honey bee's.

Miss Grace is well versed in how bees help keep out ecosystem in alignment, and anything that keeps the bees alive, she is for!

3. Provide Clean Water- 250 points
Charity Water (http://www.charitywater.org) understands diseases from unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren't strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses. 90% of the 30,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions are in children under five years old. The WHO reports that over 3.6% of the global disease burden can be prevented simply by improving water supply. Clean water means health, income and education. With every redemption charity:water receives 10 cents to provide an individual in need essential access to clean water for a day.

We provided an individual in need essential access to clean water for a day in Uttar Pradesh, India.
Miss Grace was thrilled as her aunt recently came back from a mission trip to India, so she had read a lot about the conditions there, and was thrilled to be able to help out!

As you can see, there are many different programs for you to support!

  1. I can't even image some of the needs on this page. I'd like to provide one sanitary kit so a girl could continue her education.
